Created in 2002 by husband and wife team Karl and Amber Ozinga, Beach Handbags was started with an unconventional idea to use neoprene material as the basis for their designs. Most often used as a material to make wetsuits, neoprene offered a stylish and creative alternative to traditional casual bags. Starting with just one bag silhouette in a variety of different prints, Amber Ozinga traveled up and down the California coastline, selling her bag to specialty retailers and boutiques until the line took off and started to gain recognition. By 2004, the brand offered dozens of styles, colors, and prints and can be found today in stores across the US, Puerto Rico, Canada, and the Cayman Islands. Beach Handbags puts high value on quality and craftsmanship and creates patterns and prints inspired by the lives of real women and real customers.
