About Rebecca Minkoff
Rebecca Minkoff's story is one of remarkable success. She went quickly from an emerging designer to a household name thanks in great part to a T-shirt and an iconic day-to-night handbag. Today, her handbags and apparel are loved by everyday women and celebrities alike.
Born in San Diego, Rebecca Minkoff grew up designing clothing. After graduating high school, she took her passion for designing and sewing to New York, launching an apparel line in 2001. When her "I Love New York" T-shirt made it onto Jay Leno and into US Weekly, she was flooded with requests for the patriotic design. She spent the next few years making those shirts.
In 2005, Rebecca decided to venture into handbags with her Morning After Bag. This now iconic bag, that is still in the collection today, was an instant success and she immediately shifted her focus to expanding her presence in the handbag world. Since the Morning After Bag (MAB), other iconic Rebecca Minkoff handbags have emerged including the MAC Clutch, Morning After Bag Mini, and the Nikki Hobo.
Rebecca Minkoff handbags today are known for their modern style with hints of vintage inspiration.
