"I used this CamelBak Octane XC on long trails runs in Big Bear, California, toting water with electrolytes, two Clif Bars, a mini First Aid kit, keys and money, a cell phone, and a digital camera. I also strapped a windbreaker to the CamelBak. This CamelBak (I own three) kept me hydrated on my three-hour runs. My running mates asked me a lot of questions regarding the Octane XC (they were carrying water bottles) and wanted one for themselves. I initially thought the waist pockets would be easily accessible, but they sit more toward the back rather than to the front and sides. I find myself either frequently twisting at the waist to access the pockets or getting others to access the pockets for me. Perhaps CamelBak could design the waist pockets closer to the person's front for easier access? This is a small issue when compared to how efficient the Octane XC performs on long runs. Get the Octane XC if traveling light and worry-free is your goal. This makes a great gift for the trail runner in your life!" Was this review helpful to you?
