"Great bag but ... dont be misled by the 20 inch description, as that measure does not include wheels or handles and exceeds some international airlines maximum carry-on allowance (e.g. Easy Jet, Virgin Atlantic), especially those requiring bags to fit in their metal size-measuring frame. Also exceeds the allowable carry on depth on some airlines, as they measure the total bag depth when packed and at the deepest. This bag is deeper at one end than then other.
Advice to Eagle Creek: have the bag size (e.g. 20 in) reflect the overall size including wheels/handles and add a carry on bag to this range which really does fit the international carry-on maximum dimensions. These Eagle Creek bags are the toughest, but thats not much help if the airline insists its too big to be carried on and check it into the hold!" |

"This is a great bag for thoughtful packers. Like all Eagle Creek gear, it's very well designed and made. I've taken it on a two-week trip to Africa - as well as many shorter trips - with only the matching underseat bag that slides over the handle. There was room enough for everything without having to check-in. I had no trouble with the smaller Int'l overheads. Together, the set was very easy to maneuver through crowded airports and to carry down the stairways when there is no jetway. By the way - this bag DOES, indeed, have a water bottle holder - it is cleverly hidden behind a zipper. I'm very happy with this item. Buy it!" |
