"I used this as my only luggage for a 2 week trip to Europe. Be aware that the discount airlines in Europe have a one bag carry on bag limit and that this bag with the backpack attached is over their size limit for carry on. The wheeled carry on served me well, the backpack is a different story. A few days into my trip, the backpack straps started detaching from the seam at the shoulders. I was not carrying a heavy load either, it appears the straps were just barely sewn into the backpack. I received a replacement backpack through High Sierra's warranty program which has fared better." |

"Great for business travel that is less than a week long. Wished the smaller backpack had a compartment to slip a laptop in. I'm using a separately purchased neoprene sleeve instead for my laptop. Using the smaller backpack for my business bag. I bought it mainly to be able to carry only one piece on board the plane. Nicest feature - I can zip the smaller backpack onto the bigger part so the bag is actually one piece and doesn't fall off when I'm wheeling it down the concourses. I'd probably use it on vacations too to carry the kids supplies (extra clothes, food, diapers etc.) in the small backpack. Husband could probably use both pieces as a backpack on a hike/camping trip. Both pieces would be too large and heavy when combined for me (5'5",120# woman) to put on my back, hence, the wheels come in useful. Very versatile. Also, if I overpack, I can zip the smaller backpack off when I get onboard the plane and won't have to wrestle with it trying to stuff it in the luggage compartment. Big advantage of soft sided luggage. Back piece has formed sides and is 8 inches tall. The rest is soft sided. I haven't flown on a commuter jet yet to find out whether they'll let me take the larger piece on board or whether I'd have to gate check it." |

"MY husband loved the bag I got him for his birthday. The bag is very roomy and the biggest factor was the ease of getting off the front daypack and using it and the reconnecting the day pack. It is perfect for airline travel onboard. I would repurchase this item again as a gift for myself." |

"Very roomy and smooth-rolling. The smaller backpack is a little difficult to reattach, but is a good size for carrying onboard a flight as a second carry-on. When full and with the backpack attached, it's very heavy to carry as a backpack, but it can be done when you want to free up your hands." |

"Purchased as a gift. This is a perfect match for a student that can pack well for trips without having a lot of bulky bags. Easy to keep track of and the backpack is really convienient to use for smaller items and day trips." |

"Basic bag is, well, basic. It's the detachable day pack that makes it desirable. The bag is not as large as many carry ons and the day pack must often be detached to fit in an airplane overhead. Would buy it again." |
