"I travel World-Wide and I am very rough on luggage.
This Samsonite FLite 31 Hardside holds up excellent and is very heavy duty. All of our staff travels World-Wide and we all have purchased the Samsonite 31 FLite Hardside for all of our travels. I have gone through many suitcases in the past but, this one keeps on rolling along. Very Heavy Duty but light weight. I must add we all go out for a month at a time or more and this Samsonite does the job!" |

"I purchased this item shortly before going on a cruise through Alaskas Inside Passage. Before packing for my trip, I tried to set a combination on the center lock, but could open the case without dialing the combination. Since my departure time for the cruise was the next day, I decided to rely only on the key locks on the corners of the case, and shut the combination lock without regard to the combination that I had attempted to set.
When I arrived on the cruise ship, to my chagrin, the combination lock couldnt be opened by dialing the numbers that I thought Id set it to. Ultimately, I had to enlist the help of the ships upholsterer to open it. He removed the hinge pins from the rear side of the case, which gave me access to the cases contents, but did some minor damage to the hinge. He couldnt make the combination lock work. At the end of the cruise, he put the hinge pins back in the hinge, so that I could put my personal belongings in the case for the return trip home. Again, when I arrived home, I had to remove the hinge pins to remove the contents. I took the case to Arams Shoe and Luggage Repair in Cupertino, CA, the local Samsonite repair center, but they refused to repair it because of the damage to the hinge.
I had always regarded Samsonite luggage as Top of the Line, but my experience with this case has shown me otherwise." |
