"Three reasons why you should get this backpack: Cooler pocket: Perfect for a couples sandwiches and an apple or whatever you need for lunch. The cooler pocket will hold a lot more than I expected, and it's been working well since I got the bag. Smaller size: For college I don't really need a massive backpack, just one for my laptop and books, and this is great for that. In a pinch I can fit a jacket in there with all my books, but in general the size is small enough that my books don't get ruined from smashing around. Style: Dakine made a nice looking bag when they designed this one. I got the bag in carbon, which looks lighter grey online than it really is. However, even being darker than I expected the color is classy. And, a couple other things: Sternum strap: gotta have it. Mesh water bottle pockets: depending on how full the bag is you can fit a pretty large water bottle in each side. Phone/iPod pockets: Although the organizer pocket isn't very big the two phone pockets are well padded an lined with a nice soft material which is definitely useful for keeping your devices' screens unscratched. Goggle pocket: I use it to keep headphones in, but it's kind of like a bonus pocket if you're like me and you don't need snowboard goggles at school. Go get it!"

"This is a great pack. Extremely durable (still looks new), good pockets, and great low-profile but roomy enough to hold what I need."

"we bought this for my 10 yo son for school. He is VERY rough on his backpacks. I usually can't get one to last longer than 4 months. This bag has lasted for over a year with very little signs of wear. I would buy this bag again in a second."

"Well balanced and a good fit or me. The sunglass compartment is not too useful as anything in it gets in the way of other things in the pack. The pen pockets could be a little bit bigger in diameter and one more pocket inside the small compartment would be great. I think pictures of the previous year's model showed a mesh pocket in the front of the small compartment. The simple, sleek form of the bag is very attractive to my eyes. No extra tabs and straps dangling and getting caught. Deep outside pocket is also very useful, things don't fall out easily. The bottom of the laptop compartment above the bottom of the pack is a good design and the laptop doesn't hit the floor when the pack is put down. Workmanship and materials are holding up very well after six months of daily use. Overall I'm very happy with this pack."

"I'm on crutches due to breaking my ankle over the summer and was looking for a back pack that I could comfortably wear while using crutches and that wouldn't tip me over because it was too big. This bag is just right for my slim laptop, a binder, my small lunch box, and a sweater. I could likely fit a textbook in there as well. Of the backpacks I tested (including a Northface one) this one seemed to have the best construction. The zippers glide smoothly and every part of it feels sturdy. I especially like the yolk/chest strap across the front and how it adjusts. My one beef is where the zippers are at. When my bag is full, I have to make sure not to put my water bottle into the side pocket on the same side as the zipper pulls because the water bottle completely obscures the zippers. Also, if the back pack is full it can be a struggle to even get the water bottle into a side pocket. I found that it fits best on the side where the binder edges come to a point rather than along the binder's spine. I haven't seen how it performs in the rain yet, but I am generally very happy with my snazzy, slim back pack."

"This is a great bag (although mine is mostly black with subtle-grey striping). Perfect for what I was shopping around for, which was a simple backpack to carry my Camera + ipad around--for the most part. Dakine is an awesome brand, and great quality overall. The prices on http://ebags.com were the best for this particular item. Ron http://ronperryphoto.com"

"I love this backpack! It is well organzied, has enough room for my dayplanner, ipad, and other stuff I carry to work without being so big that I overload it. Seems very durable as well."

"I bought this for my high school age son. He is happy with it and has never told me there are any issues - like a rip or that it is wearing out. Usually by this time in the school year other bags have been breaking. This is well made. It is what I expected - it looks good, there is a pouch for everything and it is holding up well."
