"I love this bag. It has stood up stupendously for one term of classes and the past 8 weeks traveling around Europe. The cooler section is a perfect for picnic foods. The only reason I didn't give a higer rating to the organization section is because only the main compartment has 2 bidirectional zippers. it would be nice if all the compartments had the ability to open/close from either side. I frequently forget which side I closed the smaller compartments on. Probably no big deal for many others..... The shoulder straps are super comfortable. I've worn this bag everyday for just about 6 months, with tons of stuff in it and it has never pulled on my back or shoulders. I love this bag!"

"This bag is PERFECT for a college student. I was worried about the size because I'm only 5ft2 but this bag fits me perfectly. I'm a Literature major so I have to carry a lot of literature anthologies and novels in addition to the usual binders and paper. This fits at least two large books (1,000-3,000 pages) in addition to my other folders AND my 13 inch laptop (my charger is heavy but I can stick that in there too if I wanted to). With all of that the bag still manages to look small when empty. Even though it has tons of space it does not look huge on my small frame and is very light when fully loaded. It looks big in the picture but I guess it's because it is stuffed. It flattens out nicely so it looks small but can expand to fit almost anything a student would want to carry. I was afraid of a giant backpack but this is a perfect size. It should be noted that my iphone fits nicely in one of the pockets on the inside (both of the phone sized pockets are also lined with the same material as the sunglass pocket so that your phone or ipod stays clean and scratch free!!!). The material seems very durable and looks a lot better than it does in the picture. The laptop sleeve has plenty of padding. I won't have to use a laptop case at all with the amount of padding provided by the backpack. The insulated lunch pack can fit a full lunch and one water bottle (or 1 frozen lunch/dinner). Don't hesitate! This bag is the best backpack I've ever bought. The only downside is that I didn't buy this bag sooner. P.S. This backpack will work for a child too as long as they are at least 5 feet. Any shorter than that and I think the backpack would be a tad bit big."

"I'm a first year college student, and I originally had a regular Jansport backpack. After carrying my 13 inch Macbook with me everywhere I go, my back and shoulders started hurting, and I knew I needed something better. And since I'm in Boston, the weather is sometimes unpredictable, but this Dakine backpack is awesome in every aspect!!! I got the Avenue/Twill color it looks even better in person since it's actually darker than the picture. The materials really nice and it dries pretty quickly after getting wet (although I havent yet been caught in a serious snowstorm). All of my notebooks were safe. It has tons of pockets..there are even two pockets that are lined with this velvet material which is nice for my iPod and small things like that! I feel like this backpack will hold up and stay with me for all four years. I was initially afraid of the sizing, thinking it would be too big for my 5 ft 3 figure, but when I put it on, it was so comfortable and it was only a tiiiny bit bigger than I'm used to, but Id rather it be bigger so I can put more stuff in than too small. It also doesn't make your shirt ride up in the back, at least for me. The only problem that was annoying was that it doesn't really stand up on its own. I have to prop the backpack against something or else it just falls over. Not too big a deal, since I always have a desk somewhere, but it was something that I think should be noted. Overall, I'm very happy with my purchase. The price after using a coupon made it even better!!"

"I bought this bag to replace a Jansport Trans bag I'd had that got me through college. I used it for everything, school, travel, etc. This bag has been a great replacement! I got it in the middle of a summer camp session and all the compartments were very useful for carrying my personal items and instruction materials. Especially the water bottle and laptop pockets which were both essential for me to have. Both were a vast improvement from those on my Trans bag, and I loved that thing. Overall a great value for the bag; I've even found use for the insulated pocket which I didn't think I would need."

"My first Dakine Prom Pack lasted three years and a few trips around the globe, until its zipper finally gave way. I am loving my second one just as much. This is a well-designed, highly functional, and very comfortable backpack. I would recommend it especially to college students like myself who need to carry a laptop, books, and a whole assortment of things that you can fit in the many zippered pockets. The straps are cushioned and the bag distributes weight well-- you can carry quite a bit and you won't feel like you're lugging around a bag of bricks. Also, the design of the backpack doesn't feel too nerdy, and I regularly get compliments on it. Definitely a good buy."

"Great backpack! I got it in "Marlo" and I just love it. The zippers move smoothly, the organizer pocket is pretty good, the sunglasses pocket is convenient but I wish there was a hole to string out my headphones, the main compartment is spacious and the laptop sleeve is held slightly up from the bottom of the backpack (helps when you need to set it down quickly), and lastly the insulated pocket! The pocket is very cool and I love that I don't need to bring a lunchbag with me anymore. I haven't tested it out yet, but when I stick my hand in it feels cooler. Lovely backpack, great buy. (There can always be better colors/patterns! ¿)"

"We bought our first Dakine Prom Pack two years ago for my older daughter. The backpack is still in excellent condition. So, we bought a second one for our younger daughter and she loves it! We particularly like the shoulder comfort and the multiple compartments. As parents we also wear it to the Zoo, Sea World, etc... It is the best backpack out there."

"I have to travel on the bus everyday to and from work so this backpack is perfect! I can fit my lunch, my umbrella, my valuables in the soft zipper pocket on the top, all my writing supplies, and a lot more. It is also a really attractive backpack that hides dirt well."

"This is a very well made backpack and is comfortable as well. It has lots of space, but isn't too bulky. The only thing I would change is that the front, smaller pockets has two zippers at each end that would meet in the middle. Keeping both zippers closed at the top seems be a better way to make sure nothing slips out. The big pockets have the two zippers. I would definitely buy this backpack again."
