"I took this backpack to Rio for two weeks in March. It held up quite well and is quite comfortable when adjusted properly. It sits firmly on your hips and snug against your back. The handles on the top and side are very well-cushioned and strong. The daypack also came in handy. I was able to fit a *ton* of souveniers in. I'm still finding stuff I hid in there."

"This pack was perfect for my 5 weeeks in Europe. Combined with some ebags packing cubes, I stayed organized and tidy the entire trip. The separate day pack I used as a carry-on on the plane, and it carted the travel books and other non-personals like ipods and snacks. I still had ample room in the main pack for clothes. I stored laundry and shoes in the separate compartment on the bottom of the main pack, and you can really compress and fit a lot of items in there. I just can't say enough good about the pack, it just worked perfectly for me. I have to note that with the main pack and day pack full, the thing really hangs far off your back. You have to be careful turning around or you could knock something over. The bag has so many adjustments to make it comfortable. Great purchase. Held up well. Is durable."

"I've purchased this particular item twice - I lost the first one during a move. I'm not tall (5 1) so it is pretty much the only travel backpack out there to fit my frame and believe me, I've looked. Anyhow, it's perfect. The size, how easy it is to hide the straps or attach the day pack. I would recommend this for sure."

"I loved this backpack. I took it to Europe for only 2 weeks, but it served its purpose very well. I am planing on using it on several more trips this year. It was a great pack, and I didn't mind carrying it around at all."

"Not the easiest bag to use, but it's roomy, and the daypack is a nice size. What was most important to me was the ability to zip up the backpack straps. It's easy to cover the backpack straps, but the compression straps around the daypack still leave a number of straps hanging free (and could easily get caught in a conveyor belt)."

"An excellent bag for the money. Big enough to fit all your needs for travel, without being too big for you to overload."

"I've had an excellent experience with the Maiden Voyage 70L. I got it for a 2 week trip across Italy and it served perfectly. I chose the Maiden Voyage because of it's size and that it is made for women. I'm about 5'5" and it worked well for me. I imagine if I was shorter it might be a bit much and the sizing mechanism was a little bit difficult to manipulate, but after some huffing and puffing I managed to get it sized correctly. The exterior is solid; not flashy which is appreciated in a travel bag. I suppose this might not be the bag you want if you're looking for something that looks really special, but the lines are smooth and it a useful outside pocket. The feature that lets you zip away the pack's straps which keeps them clean and protected when you check your bag or stow it in a bus. The interior of the main compartment (about 50L) is spacious and was more than enough for a two week trip and I imagine, with efficient package, could be good for much longer! The front load zipper was among the highlight of the bag making it really easy to pack and unpack. There lower portion of the bag is a big harder to get to, but it is made up for by the fact that it is obscured by the separate dirty-laundry compartment. Also really useful is the attached day pack. It zips to the front for storage, but much more useful is that it clips the the front of the larger pack's shoulder straps which is really handy for trips to the train or bus station! Overall, I found this bag just right for my trip and the closeout price made it a reasonable deal. I highly recommend it!"

"I ordered this bag for my upcoming trip this fall. I am backpacking through Europe for a few months and needed something comfortable, functional, and able to hold quite a bit of stuff. I decided on this bag after looking at several "backpacking" packs because I will only be using it from airport to train to hostel, etc. I wanted something with a little more organizational aspects than one big pack, and the ability to remove a smaller day pack for shorter excursions was really appealing to me. I have only used the bag for a couple weekend vacations (to get used to it) but it functions nicely so far. The fabric seems sturdy, and all the straps and belts appear to be heavy duty. The suspension system was easy to fit to my body, and the few extra compartments really help with separating the smaller items. I can't wait to use it on my trip !"

"I like the bag. The only things I would improve: more pockets/storage space inside (particularly the daypack), and make the daypack a little more comfortable for use. Otherwise it's a good value, and it worked out well for me."

"The Maiden Voyage was large enough to fit my stuff for a two month backpacking trip this summer. If it were any larger, it would have gotten way too heavy. My sister used the Explorer LT and hers was a bit small so combined with the Maiden Voyage we were able to fit our stuff (and take turns carrying each bag as mine was heavier)."
