"Bought and took this bag halfway around the world to Thailand on a 21-day trip. It transferred via airplanes and accommodations maybe 12 times. I'm pleased with the size, organization, and look of the bag--nobody else on the belt has one, so it's easy to spot. The finish took some knocks and both resisted well and the texture made the scuffs harder to spot. Wheels worked perfectly fine, no issues there. The telescoping handle DOES feel flimsy, but I have to say that worked fine regardless of how flimsy it seemed. BIG issues with the zipper pulls and lock. The flush mount lock is listed as a selling point; it is absolutely a drawback and a design flaw. The flexibility of the case makes the pulls really hard to seat in the lock unless the bag is overstuffed full enough to be rigid. And the special design of the zippers makes this not optional; otherwise they expose their angled loops, and flap around begging to be torn off or pulled open. My lock also broke at the end of the trip somehow and the zippers will no longer seat in them. I'm returning it for warranty service ASAP. A few millimeters of protrusion would have been a far better compromise, in exchange for getting normal zipper pulls and a more reliable lock that was easier to seat. The handles, too, could come out a bit more. That same obsession with flush mounting them makes them hard to open and grab off the belt. If they would address these issues in EXO 3.0, this would be a great, great bag and a great value. But the current lock and handle design is really poor."

"I recently received the eBags EXO 2.0 Hardside 24" Spinner as a replacement for the previous model. I used the previous design extensively (at least 4 times per month) for business travel from my place of employment to home. They have served me well. I have only used the current model about four times. THE LOCK: During my last trip, I realized that the lock does not work effectively if the suitcase is not full along the width of the case. Following my last use, I observed one side of the lock unlocked and I could not open the lock. When I tried the reset button, it recessed and would not pop back out. A call to customer service did not help; however, during the call, while the rep was trying to figure out what to do, I decided to try FORCING the unlocked side back into the lock. Once I got it back in, the reset button popped back up and I was able to slide the button to unlock the suitcase. I NEVER had any trouble with the previous lock design, which I prefer. EXTERIOR SURFACE: One thing I have noticed that bears mentioning. As stated earlier, this was a replacement luggage. The ribbed outer design may be flawed. It gets scraped during handling and eventually wears so thin that the suitcase cracks along the ribbed line. The flat outer surface does not get damaged. I don't know if this is intentional or if eBags is aware of this. THE WHEELS: The wheels on this luggage is almost too good. They are silent and glides easily but several times I have had to chase down my suitcase. Maybe eBags should consider putting brakes on these wheels (They are THAT good!) INTERIOR: I prefer suitcases that do not open along the midline. It requires a lot of room to store the open luggage versus those that open along the side and have a deeper storage compartment. I wish these spinners were of the traditional one side deep compartment / one side flap design. WARRANTY: eBags has the best warranty and they are true to their word about replacing damaged items. Thanks eBags!"

"I bought the green version of this bag. I used it for several car trips, and then for a month long tour of S.E. Asia. I wanted the hard sided case because I thought it could take all the flights I would be on. It is light and very easy to see as it comes down the baggage belt. Unfortunately, on the second leg of my trip the lock broke, locking my zippers so I couldn't open the case. The hotel maintenance guys in Cambodia did a nice job of cutting the zipper pulls so I could continue to use the case, just not lock it. I notified ebags and they immediately sent me a gift certificate for a new bag. Unfortunately, this meant I had to complete my tour with a suitcase that could not be locked. I have now ordered a replacement suitcase and I decided not to get another hard sided case for the following reasons: All hard sided cases require that you lay them flat when you open them. Most hotels do not provide a handy place to do this. Ebags new model has a a zipper lock people do not like. The hard sided bags without zippers were not the size and weight that I wanted. Finally, I wanted a "spinner case" that had a grab handle on the bottom to aid in picking up the suitcase in preparation for opening. None of the hard sided cases offered this feature."

"I love my EXO2.0 Hardside 24"spinner. I purchased the YELLOW and one week later gave them their first test of cruise baggage handlers, they are very rough with the bags having thousands to handle for each cruise. The three bags passed with flying colors (I was very happy with the results they all look brand new. I have one hint for those who don't use the divider to separate the one side. I used it to hold the cloths down, using it on top of the clothing secured with the Velcro on each side of the case. I would like if the bags had hold downs on both sides, I found the clothing on the side with the zipper top did not hold the clothing in place. Another hint for those who are looking for a place to put your ID I took the name and address labels most of us get free and stuck it under the top handle and put clear tape over the top to protect it. I chose the YELLOW so I would be able to spot them among the thousands of suitcases to look through and it worked they were very easy to spot."

"I will begin by saying that I had really high expectations because of my experience with the original version of these bags...I have only used them on one trip so far...I was going to wait before giving my review but kept getting emails requesting a review so here it is. My initial thoughts are that the telescoping handles and wheel assemblies are not as sturdy as the previous version, there is no external means for identification info, and I personally do not like the "cross-over" zipper pull latch system...it is harder to latch and doesn't seem as secure as the previous version (but latches and locks only keep honest people out anyway!). The bags are still as sturdy and roomy as the originals so I am happy with those aspects, and I don't see any reason they won't last just as long...as I said before I expect the handles or wheels to be the weak points...but I'm not overly concerned because of the eBags warranty, which in my opinion is unparalleled! I would like to see a 3.0 version with the original telescoping handle and tighter wheel assemblies on the new style bag.

Designer Response: The wheels used on EXO 2.0 are identical to the wheels used on EXO 1.0
The telescoping handle system (a new design) meets the same performance/durability specs as the 1.0 handle system.
The cross-over zipper pullers provide an improved level of durability for checked luggage due to their extremely low-profile design, as well as a narrower gap when compared to other flush-mounted pullers. Luggage that uses TSA-recognized Travel Sentry locks can only be opened by TSA inspectors."

"I really like my eBag EXO 2.0 Hardside 24" Spinner. We just returned from a 10 day trip including a short cruise. I was able to pack everything I needed for the trip, and bring home some purchases, all while keeping the weight just under my 50 pound limit. The zipper locking feature is nice but somtimes getting the second zipper pull to lock in takes a little extra effort. That's not a deal-breaker for me. I'm very pleased with my purchase."

"I bought the EXO v.1 in 2010 for $89.99. It's been a great suitcase. Been handled by the gorillas at the airports around this country and hardly shows any wear. Recently, it was time to add another large suitcase to our household and naturally I came back to eBags. To my surprise, the new EXO v.2.0 is $179.00!!! Twice what I paid for the 1.0 How can this be?! What did I get for another 90 dollars? I sat them side by side and compared them. The first thing I noticed was the new EXO is about 1.5 inches thicker than the old version and about 1/2 inch taller. I will take the word of the designer who said in an earlier review that the wheels are the same. I can't tell any difference in form or function there. The next thing that struck me was the absolutely FLIMSY telescoping handle. The designer says it meets the same performance/durability requirements that the previous version met. How can I argue with that? Obviously the minimum requirements for performance and durability are so low that even this flimsy handle could pass. I'm not kidding! I would expect this kind of low quality on WalMart luggage. It has really hurt my opinion of this bag and by extension, all eBags. I always thought eBags put quality first and were kind of a sleeper brand, high quality and low price, but with this bag they have reversed themselves - double the price and quality going downhill. I'm seriously afraid to tug on this bag - especially to accidentally twist/torque on the handle. I'm afraid it will bend in half just like my walkie talkie antenna did when I was a kid! I have set other bags on top of my old EXO and leaned it forward on the front two wheels with the other bags resting on the handle and never worried about it with all that weight, but I doubt this bag can handle its own weight much less with a carry-on stacked on it. I'm flying with it for the first time tomorrow...I will treat it like my other EXO..I will update when I return...."

"Excellent luggage EXCEPT for the crossover zipper built in TSA lock...Carefully following instructions to reset lock code from factory settings, the reset button popped up midway thru process and then the luggage could no longer be unlocked at the code where the reset button popped up or at the factory code.....The crossover zipper tabs are very hard to completely push into the lock when the piece is not fully packed.....No remedy except return.....good thing I had not loaded the clothes for my trip. TSA is so great at destroying or losing locks it might have been a disaster diverted......Otherwise the quality and wheels are terrific."

"I bought this bag based on positive reviews of the EXO version 1. I'm not sure how different the 2.0 version is, but I have mixed feelings about this bag. It is very light and seems to roll nicely. But it seems so much more flimsy than other clamshell-type molded plastic spinners that we own. The rubber moldings surrounding the zipper at the bottom pucker and stick up about 3/8" from the sides of the bag. If not for the wheels, these would get ripped the first time the bag is checked. When 7/8 full, but not tightly packed, the top of the bag does not align with the bottom half giving the bag an overbite appearance. I mentioned these issues to eBags and, to their credit, they rushed me a new one in three days. Unfortunately this bag has identical problems. We are undecided whether or not to keep the bag."

"I ordered this product after seeing the first EXO spinner and I knew that I wanted it. I've only experienced one travel with it and it was pain free. I ordered yellow so it wasn't hard to spot at baggage claim. I do recommend getting a luggage strap to be cautious. A ajustable handle and the spinner wheels are some of tge wonderful attributes. I look forward to buying the carry on size."

"so far, so good. i wish it didn't have such garish "ebags" insignias on BOTH sides, though. i purchased it because i was having trouble with other brands wheels pooping out after a year or so. these wheels don't seem terribly sturdy, but the lifetime guarantee is keeping me from worrying."
