Product Features

  • U-shaped double zip opening for easy loading. Opening measures approximately 11.5” x 14”
  • Zippered mesh pocket under the front panel measures 11” x 14”
  • Fold-up wire-framed wings apply support to the feet section, allowing the duffel to stand upright even when fully loaded, as well as adding definition to the upper section. Fold the wings down when storage space is an issue
  • Two interior tie-tapes have extra webbing length for easier adjustments. Upper compartment measures 4” deep
  • Forehead pocket provides easy access to a large volume pocket. Perfect for your 3-1-1 liquids bag at Security. The lining floats, allowing you to choose how much of the pocket to use
  • A built-in ID pocket can be accessed from inside the upper compartment – there’s no chance of losing a luggage tag in travel
  • Classic duffel handle is secured to the front panel – there’s even enough room to grab with gloves on
  • Lower compartment measures 20” x 14” x 4.5” and has the following features:
  •    Padded perimeter walls that allow oddly shaped items some flexibility when packing
  •    One moveable shelf that allows you to pack as if it were a bookcase - preventing everything from schlumping toward the wheels
  •    One zippered mesh pocket on the inside lid of the lower compartment. 13” x 19”
  • Convert the upper & lower section into one large compartment by unzipping the inside lid. Roll it toward the bottom and secure the two straps. Now you have one compartment measuring 20” x 14” x 8.5”
  • Grab handles on both ends allow two-handed trunk-style lifting into vehicles. The top handle is spring-loaded. The bottom handle doubles as a foot
  • Telescoping trolley handle adjusts from 46” (tallest in the industry) to 43” to 41” – no more heal kicking
  • Trapezoid shaped trolley handle tubes are perpendicular to the load plane, providing maximum support
  • Skid rails along the bottom combine with a wrap-around skid plate for added abrasion protection
  • Well protected wheels are hot-poured Polyurethane – the quietest wheels you won’t hear in the concourse
  • Interior is fully lined with our signature orange nylon lining – finding fiddly-bits in the corners has never been easier
  • YKK RC zippers throughout. Lockable on all exterior compartments
  • ***Correction*** This wheeled duffel does not come with photo-reflective zipper cords despite the features listed on the hangtag. They were removed due to zipper slider smoothness issues

"As a Flight Attendant for the last 26 years I am very particular about my travel bags. I enjoy different bags for work and pleasure trips. I enjoy adventure travel and my last bag (not eBag) was simply tired. My search began with many types of bags and since I use an eBag lunch bag for work travel I decided to give it a try. I am very pleased with the quality and thought that has gone into this bag. The top small zip is very effective for holding my wets for TSA. The top for shoes and dirty clothes and the bottom for all my stuff bags (also eBag) I would recommend this bag for trips to Friends. I was able to travel for 15 days with only this bag and one small carry-all. The only negative I have (as I am only 5Ǝ) is the extra long travel handle. I have to adjust it to the medium length. I suspect someone tall may appreciate this feature. Well done eBag."

"I travel frequently for work but purchased this bag for personal travel. Initially, I wasn't sure if it was going to be a keeper. Construction seems great, but questioned how much I'd really be able to pack with the curved top duffle opening when using the bag as one compartment (really more of a function of my packing technique). After using it on a 3 night trip I'm pleasantly surprised by how much this bag holds despite being so small. I could easily pack enough for a week. While the height is 21" with a depth of only 14" it's not as deep as my other bags (which makes this a breeze to fit into the overheads). The wheels are wonderfully quiet and roll smooth. Handling is great and the handle itself pulls out super tall. The handle system does take up quite a bit of space in the bottom compartment, but if you use long packing cubes they fit perfectly in this space, as do flat shoes. The only reason I wouldn't use this as a work bag is because I use a rolling laptop case and this doesn't come with a piggy back strap or clip location. Might be able to use the top handle but because of the narrowness of the bag you wouldn't be able to sit a rolling case on top of this bag."

"I have the first version of eTech 2.0 in Burnt Orange. I ma a very light traveler and I don't like to check my luggage. This bag hold an amazing amount of clothing if you know how to pack efficiently. I traveled to Japan for a week on business and had no trouble packing everything I needed, including a suit jacket, in this bag. It's sturdy, tough and very good looking."

"This bag has been wonderful so far. Love the fact this bag will NOT tip over (which is a problem I've had with a lot of other wheeled duffels and spinners) and with the multiple handles it's easy to carry when necessary. I just smashed 2 weeks worth of clothes into this bag and I think I just about hit it's capacity, which is pretty impressive for a bag this size. It also easily fits into an overhead bin. The trick to packing with this bag is to roll up the inside portion to fit more. On the downside, it does not expand, which I don't mind since it seems to fit a lot anyway."

"When the bag first arrived, I thought it was too small. I filled out a return authorization and was ready to send it back, but I decided to try packing it first. I was shocked just how much I could fit into it. I fit clothing for a week and still had room for several small gift boxes AND my pillow. Granted, it was stuffed full but the zippers closed easily. I kept the bag and it proved more than worthy on my first trip. It fit well into the overhead bin and it rolls smoothly and easily. It's a great bag and I'll probably buy a second for my wife."

"I took the Mother Lode Mini 21" Wheeled Duffel on a 17 day trip to Europe. My husband bought the Mother Lode 24" which I have decided is better for a long trip. The extra 3 inches makes a big difference. This 21" would be great for a weekend or 9 day trip. EBags, you did your homework... thinking of everything. It is attractive, easy to roll, easy to find at "Baggage Claim", and all the zippered compartments make it a great bag. Also, don't forget to buy the eBay Packing Cubes for organizing your trip. Let each person in your family pick their color. Enjoy!"

"Love this bag. The organization of the various pockets and the movable divider in the bottom section makes packing and organizing a breeze for business travel. Able to pack a weeks worth of clothes & shoes AND able to easily lift into the overhead bin on the plane."

"This 21" eBag and the eBags customer service is one of a kind! I had this eBag for years and traveled to many states and countries with it. I loved it so much I got one for my husband and convinced my sister to also get one for her travels. I have always counted on this perfect bag and never had any problems with it--until last August (2013), when my husband and I traveled to our 50th state, Alaska. When we arrived at the Anchorage Sheraton on our first night, my eBag handle got stuck in the down position and would not pull up. Oh no, this was our first night on our 12 day trip. My husband and I tried to get it to pull up, but no luck. So, I took off my leather belt and looped it through the handle and was prepared to pull my luggage through Alaska for the next 12 days, in and out of 7 hotels and a number of planes, trains, cars and boats. Oh well, it's not the end of the world, but a bit inconvenient. Then I remembered the eBags Satisfaction Guarantee. I really didn't expect they could help me, but what did I have to lose? A day later, I called and spoke to a helpful rep who listened to my problem, looked up my account, and although she could not ship a new bag to my next destination, she could ship a replacement to me in two days. She said she would follow the order and make sure it got to my next Anchorage Alaska location, via Second Day Air. "No problem, your complete satisfaction is top priority!" she said. I said, "WOW!" The best part is that when we arrived two days later at our Anchorage hotel, my new eBag was there, waiting for me. Again--WOW! My husband and I switched out the old for the new and we continued on our trip with perfectly new luggage. We left the other bag at the hotel with a note "FREE to a good home. TLC needed on my handle, but I work great otherwise". I trust that it found a good home and someone is enjoying it as is or found a way to fix it. We tell everyone our real-life story and are loyal EBAG customers for life! Thank you eBags!"

"The Mother Lode Mini 21 is an awesome bag. I purchased this bag for my husband after having used an earlier version frequently for the last year or so. He liked his large travel backpack, so I ordered this without telling him just before our recent trip to France. He was skeptical, but when he opened it, he decided to use it and is now a convert. He's almost 6'-5" and the handle is more than long enough for him. The Mini 21 kept his clothes etc. way more organized during our stay than the backpack and holds enough for a long trip if you know how to pack lightly. This new version has several improvements: a single handle on the front i/o a velcro-together double-strap handle, longer and more modern pull-out handle, and a nice built-in name tag holder. The wheels are quiet, even over tile floors. Inside it's the same. It needs one thing more: a buckle-on strap for attaching a second smaller bag to it. I don't think making the top less rounded would improve the back, though it would add a small amount of packing space. The round top makes it slide more easily into the overhead bin. FYI: I took my Mini 21 plus a good-size tote bag on a 6-week trip to France, Turkey and Tanzania; he took his backpack and a small shoulder bag. The only reason we needed another bag before we came home was to hold all the souvenirs and textiles we bought. PACK LIGHT. I cannot recommend enough that once you try this, you will never pack another large suitcase that requires checking. Once more: the Mother Lode Mini 21 is an awesome bag."

"Great concept. Design flaw! This well constructed roll-on DOES NOT FIT in EU pre-flight containers for checking size. This is just about 3/4" too deep to fit at pre-security screening checkpoint at what I call Heathrow H---. There I am---trying to make the typical impossibly tight British Airways connection---and a Security Officer telling me that I had to check my laptop as baggage or my medication as baggage. It was not a pretty scene---and there was probably a little power play going on. So I pulled out my laptop---my work horse monster-- and with hutzpah carried it under my arm to the "Bag Drop" desk slowly so that the onslaught of those attempting to make impossible connections hid me from the view of this Security Officer. Please note that it did fit into overhead storage with much ease and did not exceed measurements given on BA's website. This may be a way to force flying customers to carry less weight (I'm lean) or to pay the outrageously high cost of checking a second bag, but it made a difficult transfer almost impossible. Please reconsider designs for those of us who must travel within the EU. Please send the design team through a Heathrow connection and also through major airports in the EU. This bag will be fine for within US flights----but I would not recommend this for international travel. In short this bag does not meet my needs.
Designer Comment: The customer is correct that the Mother Lode Mini is not sized for EU travel. All of our products are initially designed for the US market."
