Detailed Product Description

Another addition to the TLS family - this Laptop Backpack has exceptional organization, conservative styling, excellent laptop storage & protection, pockets galore, and superior comfort. Great colors too!

Designer Notes

Reconsider how you carry your laptop & peripherals with the TLS Workstation. A backpack distributes weight more evenly, resulting in less fatigue - once you carry it for a day, you'll wonder why you waited so long. Enjoy!

"First, this is THE single best backpack I have ever owned. I carry a laptop, iPad, iPhone and all kinds of other electronic gadgets (ext. HDs, etc) back and forth to work and on very frequent overseas trips to Asia and Africa. This is the only bag I've found that I can use both as a daily bag and travel bag. I love the fact that the medium space cube from eBags fits snuggly in the middle compartment. I often pack my change of clothes for long haul air travel in there AND have plenty of space for my Macbook Air and iPad in the laptop compartment. The pockets are abundant and nearly perfect. I do have a few recommendations to improve the product. 1. Add some sort of reinforcement around the main compartment. When it is not filled to the max, the bag tends to slouch. This would also protect the laptop with some more rigidity. 2. Some of the pockets in main compartment need zippers. The large pocket at the top falls open too often with just the hook and loop. 3. Add secret pocket between the main body of the bag and the back padding. 4. Finally - and this is a must - add something to hold an iPad. Given that laptops are much thinner, a mesh pouch could easily fit attached to the inside wall of the laptop compartment or as a separate zippered compartment between the laptop and top handle. That said, it is still the best bag I've ever seen."

"This is my third eBags laptop backpack. I loved the previous ones but I was keen to get a bigger one that might allow me to skip a second carry on for overnight flights and I wanted a dedicated pocket for the laptop. The bag is great, more room that I need on a day to day basis, but its design is such that it does not feel bulky when it¿s not full, and I do not look like I am going on an overnight camping trip every day as I head to the office. The material is more rugged than it looked on the website which was a pleasant surprise. I got a black one and I expect it will last many years just like my last one. The orange interior is cool it makes it easier to see things in the bag. The laptop pocket is awesome as far as its padding and the ease of getting the PC in and out (probably the best feature compared to my previous bag). Like he says in the video, there are pockets galore which are nice. It will take some time to decide how to use them all and then to remember what I stored in each. The removable storage compartment (video says it holds fiddly bits - whatever those are) makes use of space that would otherwise go to waste, but it's not designed for heavy stuff (like a charger) as a heavy item within it tends to fold the top into the bag when you open the bag. But hey, it¿s a feature that could be useful and it¿s removable so that is a plus. The charger fits nice in the outside pocket opposite the water bottle pocket. One feature I REALLY like (which my earlier eBags did not have) is the padded back which slips over my roller handle when traveling - no more twisting the shoulder straps to secure my backpack on the roller handle. The only enhancement I would suggest for the bag is to flip the zippers on the interior pockets so that the key lanyard can be zipped into the pocket just above it rather than two above it, but that is a tiny nit. This backpack is well designed, a pleasure to use, and an excellent value. Thank you eBags for another winner."

"I took this backpack on 11 flights/trains (domestic and international) through 4 major cities across the U.S. and through 4 countries in Europe in the last two months, and I can easily say that this backpack is worth every penny. (Even more valuable when on sale!)--- PROS: 1) All the pockets. The side zipped pockets are particularly useful. It is large enough to hold my sunglass case, which was great because it kept my sunglasses separate from the main compartment and was readily accessible. 2) The separate zipped laptop compartment. It was very easy going through airport security every single time. No need to fish around for the laptop in my bag, and it took no time to put it back in once I went through. 3) The detachable pouch for laptop cords. Genius. Who thought of this? I would love to give him/her a hug for this. Very well thought-out and organized storage my laptop and cords in this backpack. 4) Extremely durable. I crossed two continents and an ocean with it, and no matter how heavy it got, I never had to worry about it. It is built well. 5) The ability to slide the backpack over suitcase handles is absolutely BRILLIANT.--- CONS: 1) When used as the sole carry-on piece, it can be heavy with a laptop inside. (When used with a 2nd carry-on/personal item, it is fine.) --- Overall, it is a great companion piece to the 29-inch TLS wheeled duffel. It can also function quite well as an overnight bag, a school bag, or just an everyday work bag."

"I was worried it may have been too bulky, but I was pleasantly surprised on the look of the bag, and then when I went through all the features of the bag, highly impressed. This bag is being used by my daughter who is 5 feet 2 inches tall. She absolutely loves the convenience of the backpack and how it holds all of her college textbooks, along with her laptop."

"Most laptop backpacks seem to devote the non-laptop compartments to carry files/books. I like the design of this bag in that there is a large main compartment where you can easily pack clothes. The bag is pretty large, kinda heavy, and very structured (ie, stiff), so it is not very comfortable to wear, which is a major disappointment. I would not recommend it as a daily commuter backpack, but as an airline carry-on bag, I think it is fine. It holds quite a bit, and has never-ending pockets upon pockets for organizing all your smaller items. My favorite feature is the large sleeve in the back where you can put it over the handle of rolling luggage. There is no shifting or movement at all with this bag on top. The bag seems to be well-made and durable."

"This is BY FAR the best backpack I have ever owned. The backpack straps for one are incredibly comfortable, and the included detachable sternum strap means you don't have to hold the straps to scrunch them together to make them fit better on your chest. The straps are well-stitched and feel strong. The back panel is vented and padded - really awesome. I find that, even with a heavy load, my back doesn't really hurt. (I'm 6 1, if that gives you an idea.) There are tons of wonderful little touches on this bag: the padded back panel lets luggage handles through, so you can attach it to your luggage; the bag actually SITS UPRIGHT ON ITS OWN which is absolutely unprecedented in any bag I've ever owned. It's amazing what this does for your sanity when you're trying to fill it. The laptop compartment is very well-padded and fits my 15" MacBook Pro perfectly. I used to use a heavily padded laptop case, but this laptop compartment works so well that I haven't used it. The bottom of the bag is also well padded all around for all of the compartments. And oh, the water bottle holder is BRILLIANT - one of the side compartments unzips to a mesh water bottle holder, which fits standard water bottle snugly, and can zip over smaller water bottles. My last backpack's water bottle holders all shredded and loosened over time, because they were exposed on the outside; they stopped holding my water bottles after awhile. Watch the video - you really get a good sense for the incredible organization in this thing, so I won't say too much about that. Can't say I've ever owned a backpack that's made me this happy, or happy at all for that matter. Some downsides: no storm flaps on the zippers, so rain can get in; the built in shelf is really flimsy; the upper detachable power brick pocket tends to rip off its attaching velcro when filled with anything heavy. But that's pretty much it."

"Have used the TLS Workstation regularly since purchase...once for a business trip and to carry everything to work. The bag was very useful for my business trip. I was able to carry my laptop, IPod, cables, chargers, files, notebooks, journals camera and other gear without the bag looking like it was loaded with 100lbs. The TLS Workstation comes without a waist strap. Although a waist strap would help for some people, I like not having the waist strap flapping around when I don't use it (which is most of the time). The pack, with all my equipment, fit nicely under the seat on the plane( I had used the overhead compartment for my carryon). I used public transportation extensively on my trip and was able to slide the backpack over the handle of my rolling carryon. This is a great feature, one which I think makes the TLS Workstation worth purchasing without consideration of all of the other features. I found the organization of the TLS Workstation to be well laid out with plenty of room for everything I wanted to take with me(and I usually carry lots of gear on trips). The bag works just as well now that I have started to use it to go to work (as opposed to the leather briefcase I used to take with me). There is a zippered pouch where I keep the laptop charging cable and cube (very handy). I also use lots of pens and there has been ample storage for the pens, highlighters and other work-related gear. The fit and finish is good and is similar to a weekender carryon I purchased from ebags a couple of months ago. The fabric is durable and the color (light blue) is pleasing without screaming its presence. So far the TLS Workstation has met my expectations...and I took quite a bit of time and research prior to making a selection."

"I love the Laptop Backpack, feels very strong and well made. I love all of the double zippers making many of the compartment lockable. All of the zippered internal compartments are slightly larger than expected which is really nice. I have loaded it down with books and it fits soo well that it feels like you are only caring half the weight you have loaded. THIS IS THE NICEST BACKPACK I HAVE EVER SEEN, and I am really into backpacks. VERY WELL THOUGHTOUT DESIGN."

"After purchasing my TLS Workstation Laptop Backpack, I am completely sold on your products and have been a walking testimonial sharing the features and benefits of the backpack to my family, friends and colleagues. Even my kids are learning the value of an Ebags product versus a name brand and the many other expensive but inferior products on the market. I own and have used great products from Tumi, Ogio, Swissgear (Wenger), Jansport, etc. What I find impressive about my Ebags product is the quality of the materials, workmanship, guarantee and the very reasonable price. The TLS Workstation Laptop Backpack is durable and really versatile. It has clean inconspicuous lines that doesn't draw too much attention to it. I spend a lot of time doing comparisons and researching before making a purchase. The product videos are extremely helpful as they offer suggested usage and explain why you have a particular feature on the Ebags products that will benefit us, the user. It would be nice to see more of them being produced. My purchase experience was very easy and Ebags branded products will be a top consideration on my future purchases and based on this positive experience I will definitely be owning and gifting more Ebags products."

"I'm an engineering student in college so I have many textbooks that I carry to class on a daily basis. This backpack can handle it easily. It can get rather bulky when I add my wallet and lunchbox, but I much prefer this to carrying books that don't fit in my arms as was the problem with the bag this one replaced. I like to be organized so the pockets are great and I don't have to pull everything out of my backpack to find something. The padding on the backpack can get rather hot walking around in the August heat and humidity of Virginia, but I haven't found a backpack for which this isn't the case. I also like that I can remove the chest strap rather than having them hang down and never used."
