"For a professional review of this item, I recommend you search the internet for the John Flinn review at sfgate.com. From my perspective: overall, it’s a sturdy inexpensive bag for carrying 20 lbs or less in backpack mode. I like the hideaway straps and organizing compartments. Comfortable backpack straps. Removable waist belt helps carry heavier loads. I usually carry it with just one backpack strap. Compression straps inside and outside. I like the way the lid opens like a normal suitcase. Note the main compartment is about 5” deep and can hold two layers of eBags packing cubes. A single Large eBags packing cube pretty much fills a whole layer and two side-by-side Medium eBags cubes can fill another layer. The interior mesh compartment in the lid is more like 20" x 12" x 1.5" (not 22" x 14" x 1.5"). Outer compartment is more like 20" x 12" x1.5" (not 22" x 13" x 2"). Every bag comes with a high-visibility orange interior."

"Back pack strap broke 8 days into a three week trip in Europe. Bag was not heavy ( had to pass easyjet carrying stds). Not very sturdy. Will request new strap when return. Will see if the rest of the bag holds up over the next week."

"Excellent. Very well made with plenty of storage. Does get a bit heavy when full but this is not attributable to the bag, gravity is to blame :). Soft sides and handles make placement in an overhead bin a snap. Great bag."

"So far, so good. I've only had it since November so I can not yet attest to its longevity, but it seems tough as nails. I do not treat it gently when stuffing it into overhead compartments. I do not treat it gently on the subway, either. So far it shows no signs of abuse. I like the size, as it fits current carry on guidelines for all airlines I have been on so far. Lots of space, too. My girlfriend, who travels monthly by plane, was impressed when she saw how much stuff it would hold. Lots of pockets for organization. I like the orange due to it's individuality (easy to spot in a sea of other bags) and visibility, so I don't leave it behind when I shouldn't. The only thing that I would do to improve upon and otherwise good bag, would be to include a nice shoulder strap."

"I love ebags! I have two more. This I like the least, I wish it was a dash smaller because being so soft it is hard to carry, and i wish it had a way to secure it on top of the wheeled ones. I would buy again and will the other ones I have, but not this model. I recommend ebags and several colleagues have bought them. I teach internationally so I am often on the road ."

"my husband and I bought these for our 2 week trip to Europe 5 years ago. We love this backpack. We have since gotten rid of our regular suitcases and use these for all our travels. They fit into ANY overhead no matter what size airplane because the squish. Amazingly, it holds alot of clothes and travel essentials. We just recently bought 2 more for our children and 1 for our niece for her college graduation."
