"I bought this wheeled backpack specifically for a 10 day vacation to the United Kingdom where we were planning to be on the move almost daily and couldn't be tied down with a lot of luggage. It worked GREAT. Many days we had to tote our luggage with us because we checked out of our lodging in the morning & were not staying in the same area that night. It rolled along the streets of 5 cities in 3 countries and held up great. Also the removable day pack was great as an under the seat stash on the plane for needed items while the rolling bag went in the overhead so no waiting for baggage, walk on - walk off. That's the way to go! I did not attempt to carry the whole thing on my back as it wasn't needed, it rolled along nicely."

"I was on a company plane & used the backpack straps to carry the entire bag up the flight and a half of stairs to the plane. The previous week I struggled to carry my old bag.I also rolled the bag over a metal catwalk & up and down 5 stairs. It handled beautifully."

"This case performed as advertised. The backpack had to be separated from the main case for airline carry-on. in fact, I used the backpack exclusively as a backpack and never had it attached to the suitcase while traveling. Still, I can imagine that for some circumstances attaching the the backpack to the case would be useful. The main case did not meet size limits on Air Berlin so my plan for carry-on only was foiled. It did qualify for carry-on on British Air."

"It is a good size for a 2-3 day trip. I would prefer if the suitcase straps had more padding and I would like a padded compartment in the backpack for a laptop/iPad."

"I have used a High Sierra backpack for the past 6 years, traveling all over SE Asia and back and forth to the USA. It is amazing how much you can pack in the two pieces. The old one has held up well, but I wanted a wheeled pack this time. This model is even bigger but still can be my carry-on bag on the plane. The quality is still excellent and I look forward to many more years of use. I would recommend this to anyone traveling. Great bag!"

"I think you backpack should be wider and the two front zippers should be able to be open or close via double zippers"

"The main bag is very functional and light though a bit small and could use a few pockets on the inside. If you can manage to travel with it as your main bag and I did- and kudos to you if you can manage - you will then need to forgo any shopping during your trip. The backpack portion is poorly designed and constructed. The back straps appear to be pulling out, the compartments are not usefully shaped and the way is zips closes also is poor. I will likely not use the backpack on my next trip and so will lose the convenience of putting the 2 parts together."

"I bought this for my trip to Istanbul. I knew I would be getting around on public transportation and on foot a lot, so I wanted the option of both wheels and backpack straps for when I needed to go up stairs or if I was traveling on rougher streets. The removable daypack was also great for when I was traipsing around the city. Overall, this bag worked out really well, however it doesn't really fit in the overhead compartment on airplanes unless you detach the daypack and put the two parts up separately. Also, when the bag is fully loaded with the daypack attached, it is hard to get it to stand up straight, due to being so front-heavy. It also feels like it should hold more stuff than it does, though it was big enough to hold all I needed for a 7 day trip."
