"I compared 4 High Sierra backpack models: Mayhem (this model), Neo,Access, and Incline.I'm a 62" woman. For my uses (carryon for travel/day hikes), I selected the Neo model, but this model was a close second. If they'd change the yoke style shoulder straps to 2 single shoulder straps, offer it in the Purple print, add a back access zipper, make shoulder pouch larger, and eliminate the rivets, it would be a perfect pack. The Yoke style straps tend to dig into the back of my neck unless I keep the pack at a lower position. All 4 packs had tags indicating that they could hold a 17" laptop. The Access and Incline could not hold my Dell 17" Inspiron, but this one could. All 4 packs had pouches in the shoulder straps. The only pack that could hold my iphone in an otterbox case was the Neo model. Three of the models including this one, had a larger and probably more durable zippers than the Incline model. The padding on the bottom seems the same on all models. ***Pros:***- Fabric seems durable. - Adjustable side compression straps. - Does fit my 17" Dell Inspiron Computer. (16.5" L x 11.5).- One Strap for attaching accessories to the front of the pack.- Front pocket with clip holds one 16-20 oz bottle or 1000 ml nalgene bottle. Easy in and out.- 2 zippered side pockets. Can hold one 16-20 oz bottle in each.- Lots of space in this pack. My measurements are 19.5x13.5x10 = 2632 cu in. Less space than the Neo. ***Cons:***- Comes only in purple, not purple print fabric (very nice) like other models.- Yoke style straps dig into the back of my neck. straps are further apart, so less comfortable for a smaller person.- Pouch on shoulder strap(5"x3") fits iphone without case, not with case.- Does not have Back access zipper for getoting laptop in/out easily. - Decorative rivets Look nice but concerned they may catch on something and rip pack."

"My daughter is a sophomore in HS with mostly AP classes. She has an enormous amount of textbooks to lug every day. She's only used it for a couple weeks. No complaints at all except that it's so heavy now that it can carry more books."

"I am a freshman in high school and my backpack wasn't big enough for all the books and binders I had to carry on a daily basis to school. My mom ordered this backpack for me and it has been great. It holds all my supplies and keeps me organized. It is rugged enough to survive the bus ride home, even when I have to sit on it in the aisle until a few students get off the bus, and that has happened a few times, LOL. It is comfortable with the padding on the back and shoulder straps. Overall it is a great backpack and my mom got a great deal on it at ebags.com. We plan to order all our bags from them in the future."

"Great backpack! This fits everything and I mean everything! My daughter was carrying a backpack, laptop bag, lunch box, and gym gear in 4 different bags. Then I found this one! All of these items anc books fit in this bag easily. There are lots of compartments and storage. The colors are great! and I'm so happy my kid only has one bag to keep track of now."

"I was really surprised how durable the fabric is. My son is extremely rough with his backpack and this one looks like it will survive for awhile. Also, the fact that is has three full pockets for books is great because most bags go down half way."

"Backpack big enough for all my daughters books! Yea! Unfortunately the straps in back are snagging and wearing on my daughters clothes. Love the size but unfortunately the straps etc are too stiff and sturdy. My daughter went back to her old backpack that was just as big but much lighter weight."

"I haven't used the bag yet, but I can tell just by looking at it that it's got what I need and is what I was looking for. I needed something that had several separate compartments for books/laptop and then another area for everything else I have to carry between work and school (work uniform, lunch & dinner) and all of the other items (pencil case, camera, wallet, etc). A lot of packs that I'd seen had all these compartments but looked too small and compact. Others were way too big and bulky. The Mayhem pack is just right and I love the many pockets and inner organization found inside. Looks just like the picture and I can't wait to take it on my train trip to Arizona in one week!"

"I purchased this high sierra mayhem laptop backpack for my 13 year old . My son carries a lot of stuff in this backpack. It has enough storage for all his needs. It's heavy and I don't know how he lifts it ,but I'll get back to you with an over view of sturdiness and whether or not it's held up to a middle schoolers load. The first backpack we purchased was super cheap but had all the storage needs until it all started to rip out after two weeks of school, so we'll see how this backpack performs. Talk to you soon."
