"This is a great LOOKING rolling backpack that I purchased for my high school student who cannot wear a backpack, due to a back problem. It's important for her to have one that closely resembles the backpacks her peers wear vs. carry on luggage. It would be better if the zipper worked more smoothly. I used the old candle wax trick by rubbing a tapered candle along the zipper to make it work better, which did ease it. The flap that covers the zippered compartments are stiff and make it less easy to open and close the zipper for each section. She can keep the fabric covering the zipper of the large compartment turned up, but that doesn't work for the middle compartment. As with all other backpacks, there is no room to hold a lunch bag/box, without flattening the contents or putting too much stress on the backpack compartments and zippers. I discovered that the nylon handle of a lunch bag would fit over the telescoping handle, but it does get in the way as it flops around awkwardly. The angled bottom of the exterior mesh, side pockets are a bit shallow. The angle is not as effective as a straight edge would be. Students need quick and easy access to pencils, making the small compartment interior section a less convenient location. One of the exterior mesh, side pockets is a better option, but the mesh requires first putting the pencils in a fabric pencil case that is fitted into the mesh pocket. Again, it works but is not ideal. The compartment designed for a laptop works well for her school issued computer. The telescoping handle has two heights and operates smoothly. The zipper stiffness and nuisance flap that covers the zipper are my only two complaints for this particular model. The other issues I listed are complaints I have of ALL backpacks. I wish someone would get that right."
