"We bought 2 of these on sale to take our granddaughters backpacking for the first time. The packs have been used once and worked well, EXCEPT that the belt doesn't tighten enough for their thin frames (6 and 9 years old). The poor six year old's neck and shoulders were taking a beating until I realized she was suffering and we couldn't tighten it any further, at which point I started removing weight from her pack. Since there were no other options at the time I was shopping for backpacks, I have nothing to compare these to. These packs are well built, sturdy and well organized, and will last us for many years. However, a frameless pack would likely have been more comfortable for our granddaughters."
