"I have mixed feelings about this bag. Pros: It is a great fit on the side of my falcon backpack and is a sturdy item. The pocket on the outside is handy and the water bottle part is insulated/padded. It would be great for holding camera lenses or other delicate items. Cons: The zipper on top is very stiff. I have been working to loosen it up. It is crazy expensive for what it is. I also bought the smallest roly poly that is perfect for a water bottle at half the price so I would recommend that instead. In the meantime, I will keep looking for a better use than "water bottle holder" to justify the expense to myself because I just hate to send it back."

"very well made , the upper zipper is a little hard to maneuver, but should loosen up w/ time. I wouldn't expect to pay quite as much, but it is perfect for my application. thx mac mccready."

"I initially bought this for woods walking, but have found it to be useful for everyday activities in the hot Southern Summer. I include a 32oz Naglene water bottle-a Swiss army knife-a first-aid kit-pen/paper-a compass-bug spray-matches-whistle-small flashlight-a stainless camp cup which fits under the water bottle-a carabiner-a tac-tie-@40-50 feet of milspec paracord-a small roll of duct tape-5ft of orange marker cord-a bandana-etc., I should add that the paracord/first-aid kit are carried in a small maxpedition 'cocoon' - zip pouch attached to the bottle holder with 3" tac-ties. Overall go anywhere/do anything sturdy gear. If you reduce the bottle size (say to 16oz.) - you would have more storage space in the holder. I have received compliments from some local trail shop employees. Attached Molle straps allow other options. I recommend this item !!!"

"I expected more insullation; and the zipper is cumbersome. Otherwise, it is well made."

"A simple solution to adding a water bottle pocket on to a Maxpedition back pack or any mil style pack. Small pouch in front good for first aid items or wallet/credit cards if used alone (d-rings permit adding a strap to the waterbottle holder)."

"Like all Maxpedition products this one appears to be very close to bomb proof, 1000 D ballistic nylon, reinforced stitching, etc I used the bottle holder as the foundation of a woods kit I put together- I added their shoulder strap, two Cocoon pouches to one side, their strobe pouch to the strap. I use a SnowPeak ti 700 pot in the bottom of the holder which perfectly nests a 32 oz nalgene I can carry what I need for a day hike comfortably in a very light and compact package"
