"This bag is bulletproof. I been have dragging it around almost daily since 2005, and it has really stood up to my abuse. My dog has scratched it pretty badly (separation anxiety) a few times and a little leather balm makes it look like new. The leather may seem soft, but it has weathered years of hard use beautifully. My only issue has been that it's a little too small for weekends (I don't travel light) and maybe a little oversize as a briefcase, but it holds laptop, accessories, tons of files, reading materials, personal items and more. Since the space is there, I fill it, so when I need something unusual (superglue, pliers, curling iron, umbrella), I have it right there at hand. Its little raincoat keeps everything dry even in driving rain. It's been amazing. The handle finally broke on the detachable wheelie part, since baggage handlers insist on picking it up by that part instead of collapsing it and using the straps, but I'm hoping McKlein can repair it. If not, I'm buying a new one."

"I purchased this item because I was looking for a laptop case and an attache/briefcase that was big enough for all my teaching materials. This was a great solution for me. The laptop is secure and nicely padded, surrounded by soft fabric. The leather is nice and the construction is well made so far. I've stuffed this thing on many occasions already and no problems. The wheeled foundation is smooth and the pull handle reaches a comfortable height for me. (I'm 6'4") Nice. Zippers are big and interlock so that you can put a small lock through them. The rain/snow cover works excellently, but was confusing to use the first time. Once you know, then no problem. The good thing about this case is that I can detach it from the wheeled foundation if I want to carry it around. Also, the briefcase included inside fits nicely and is a great convenience when I want to bring any temporary materials with me to meetings instead of bringing the whole case. I would recommend this for those that like to carry their whole office around with them."

"It's just what I wanted, enough room for two 17" laptops and some chargers and books without popping any zippers. Narrow enough to make it down a modern airplane aisleway, which was a problem with my previous bag. So far it's all good! The surprise for me is the little bag that comes inside of it, kind of like finding a secret decoder ring in your Lucky Charms! Although I don't expect to use this little bag for travel since it won't hold my 17" laptop, it turns out to be a great little bag for daily usage, holds my pens, book, MP3 player, a few folders and magazines and comes with a really great shoulder strap."

"Purchased this model in mid-2004. Style is good, size is great, organization superb, but the handle on the detachable unit is horrendous. Has broken twice - replaced once by McKlein for a reasonable charge. First time it broke was on my 6th trip; second break was on my first trip (hence: "wear'n'tear" was not the cause). First time, I was ascending an escalator that had shut down (dumb move on my part). Second time, I was ascending a curb at the airport (should not have been a casue). First time, I was carrying my laptop + about 10 lbs of kit. Second time, the laptop alone (I do learn from my mistakes). But the handle snapped anyway. The only reason I got a roller was because I had a hefty 8 lb laptop - so it's not like I was making an odd or unexpected use. Other than that cursed handle, I love the bag. Alas, without the handle, half it's purpose as a "rolling bag" is gone."

"Handle is too lightweight for the size of the bag. McKlein refuses to honor their warranty and charges to replace handle. Their customer service manager had the gall to tell me that the handles on rolling bags should be replaced every year! I would not us any McKlein junk if it was given to me for free!"

"The convenience is great. I use the smaller bag when I am at my home office and the larger bag when travelling. The bag is very easy to transport and storage space is great."

"Outstanding laptop case. It is hard to find a top quality leather product at any price these days. This bag is top notch and flawless. A bit expensive, but you what you pay for. Anyone would be proud to own this bag. Believe me I know about leather, my grandfather owned a leather shop."

"Had the bag approx 2 months. To-date I have been very please. Once you get used to connecting the bag to the frame it is easy to remove it and put it under the seat. I utilized it primarily for travel. Plenty of compartments for organization. I have a Sony Vaio F Series 17" laptop I can get it in the bag however other than a sleeve to put the computer into anything thicker would be a problem. The wheel frame is very sturdy. I carry other things headphones, Nook, Portable DVD. Bag is roomy. It could easily serve as an overnight-er if desired. Excellent value for the price."

"I have been looking for a laptop case that is both wide enough and sturdy enough to hold my computer, plus all my books and files. The McKlein Chicago Laptop Case fits the bill exactly. I have airline travel about twice a month, and this bag can be rolled through airports and down most airplane aisles without difficulty. I also teach college classes, and the bag can be rolled through parking lots without damage. I have had previous bags which did not hold up long; this bag is very attractive, very big, and sturdy."

"This is a great bag. Good quality design, very durable build and good quality material. I travel weekly in my sales related job so I need a bag that could take the abuse. The really nice feature is the detachable roller assembly. Easy on and off means you can quickly accommodate your travel needs, whether you’re traveling with other baggage or just this one item. Organization is good and the size allows for use as a computer/overnight bag for those one-day trips. The only draw back I’ve found is when flying regional jets, due the limited size of the overhead compartments, the bag set up with the roller assembly does not typically fit, especially if the bag is over filled."
