"Even though I've stated that I would not buy this product again, I should preface that statement by saying:"The shoulder-strap needs to be re-engineered....." I use this bag to tote around my 17" laptop plus power supply, a book (about 700 pages), headphones, and my notebook/organizer. This briefcase is pretty substantial and it has raised interest/eyebrows where ever I go. With that being said, beware of the shoulder-strap, it likes to randomly disengage and if you are not paying attention, you will drop the brief. This "feature" has embarrassed me a number of times, and if I were to purchase this briefcase for my other two 17" laptops, the shoulder-strap will need to be improved. This briefcase represents a great concept, very spacious, but please beware of the shoulder-strap!!"

"I purchased this briefcase to replace my husband's Hartmann briefcase that is literally falling apart after 15 years of use. My plan was to use the McKlein while the Hartmann was being repaired. While I still will have the Hartmann repaired because my husband is very sentimental and the case was a law school graduation gift, he may choose to continue with the McKlein! The leather is very well tailored. The clasp is nice; no catching upon opening or closing. Handles are nice and tall for a good carry feel. Lots of pockets and sections for pens, checkbook, laptop, folders... The only downsides are no external pocket for stashing company ID's or something you'd need quick access to, and the case doesn't stand open for folder access at your desk side. Hope I can attest that the handles remain strong over time. Husband is happy so far!"

"Nice looking briefcase, but not durable at all. I have had the same problem as others where the shoulder strap will randomly come off causing it to fall to the ground - embarrassing and not good with a laptop inside. Also, the handles are coming un-stitched. I contacted the manufacturer about these problems and they said they're not sure if they can be fixed, not to mention the $25 in shipping there and back that I will have to pay. Should've bought a different bag."

"A good bag. However, the bag could use a device of some kind that would "hold the bag open" for better entry. When a person sits in a chair next to a work table, the bag neeeds to be capable of "staying open" for chair access."

"The item is handsome, durable and has marvelous organization. The shoulder strap construction, however, does not work. The clasps on the strap unhook no matter how I carry or lift the bag causing it to drop. I cannot use the shoulder strap which is unforgettable not to utilize that feature."
