"Purchased 5 years ago. Carries pro DSLR camera, Prozoom lens, 50mm lens, wide angle lens, 2-flashes, flash reflectors, flash diffusers, full tripod, mini tripod, 2-chargers, laptop, laptop charger, cables, and more... Never had a single problem with it! (Except it's too heavy for my assistant to carry! Weighs 30 pounds but I have everything I need for a shoot in 1 bag.)"

"Works as advertised. Survived a 5 hour wedding shoot and was very helpful, easily carrying: 2 light stands with modifiers, 1 pro DSLR with 5 lenses, 1 film SLR with 2 lenses, 2 speedlights, a ring flash, and all the various small items that go with those things (batteries/filters/triggers ect). It was stupid heavy but surprisingly comfortable given the load, and I am particularly surprised I could easily attatch both full sized light stands (one in the tripod sling and one on the bottom). We'll see how it holds up over time, with all that weight I'm keeping an eye on it. So far, great product."

"I have not been able to use it as much as I would like but anticipate several trips this year in Yellowstone and Glacier National Park. I wanted a bag that would be great for the seat beside me in the car, for small day hikes in the parks and walks, and for extended day hikes in the mountains. This one fits all three of those demands, and looks good doing it. The design is excellent and the construction is everything I have come to expect from Mountainsmith. All the features, and more, of the much more expensive bags. It is a very comfortable bag and can be used for air travel carry on with the side handle or back straps. I would highly recommend it and ebags."

"I outgrew the Canon camera backpack and searched hard for a replacement that could handle my growing collection of photo equipment, protect everything inside, feel good on the move, and retain some room for future growth. There are some great bags and packs out there in the $300 range. The Mountainsmith Parallax fit my requirements for little over $100. Entry to the camera/lens compartment is through the "back" of the pack (the part that touches your back and shoulders when wearing the pack), which is a little different from most camera backpacks...not a problem for me as I always have the camera and lens of my choice out and on my shoulder when I am hiking or en route to a photo destination. The compartment is deep and well padded. Other large zippered compartments can handle a laptop and a jacket or fleece with no problem. Water bottle pockets are on the outside on both sides. A unique tripod carry system is on the back. A rain cover deploys from a bottom 'pocket'. Interior materials don't allow this pack to sag. The waist belt is thick and has small storage pockets that are easily accessible. Zippers are substantial. Adjustability of all straps is good. The overall impression is that this pack is built to last a long time. This is not a small or light photo backpack. I think some potential buyers might be turned away by its size and depth... but if you have a lot of stuff (right now I'm carrying two dslr bodies, 4 lenses, extra batteries and cards, flash, small tripod, binoculars, chargers, and many peripherals) and want it to be available when you need it and not when you get back to your car, this bag will do the job very well."

"This attractive, well made product is designed to carry your laptop as well as cameras. The computer side is well organized and can make for a great portable office. The camera side does have a few design problems in my opinion. It is difficult to get to your camera quickly. The interior area has movable partitions so that you can fit your camera and lenses snuggly in the bag. These are held down with Velcro and do not stay in place very well unless you have the bag very full which makes the bag heavy and hard to manage because the sides are very stiff. If not full, you have to keep your camera and lenses at the bottom of the bag so I don't recommend buying this for daily use. The bag is great if you plan on packing lots of things into it and for travel. When it is full and heavy, it does have several handles for carrying it, so that does help. It is difficult to put on your back, but once there, it is comfortable, molds to your back and gives great support. It is well balanced and distributes the weight of a full bag evenly. Because there is so much room you can put a lot of things in it such as clothes, etc. along with several camera bodies, lenses and computers. I have put in two laptops with accessories with no problem. If you are traveling light you could probably use this for a long weekend and need no other bags. The external pockets for water and other items are nice and it has places for ID, credit cards, medication and all sorts of stuff. It also has a cover in case you are caught in heavy rain. It will definitely provide protection for your electronics. A smaller bag would have been better for my needs but this one might be perfect for you. I like the fact that it is made of recycled materials."

"Fits my need very well. Storing the straps for the waist band is a bit combersom if they are not used. However the extra carry handles and storage and rain cover as well as the tripod caddy are very well thought out...in general I love it. Ebags was terriffic to work with..I will always buy from them if they have what I need..."
