"I love the Osprey 46 for its size. I take it as my carry-on bag when I travel overseas. I've learned to pack lightly and can take about two weeks of "stuff" in the pack. It's well constructed and travels well. The two I purchased were gifts for friends in England. Your price, even with the $60 postage to England, was less expensive than my friends purchasing the packs in England."

"My teen daughter and I LOVE our Osprey Porter 46 packs. As our 6th floor Paris flat had 111 spiral steps, we ditched our suitcases for our two-week summer trip. The Porter 46 meets international carry-on size restrictions, so we chose the packs to avoid checked luggage and the potential for being separated from it, and to be able to easily catch a train from CDG airport into Paris city center without toting luggage--MUCH easier traveling with just a backpack. In addition, I carried a large crossbody purse that fit my Surface computer, which also fits in the Porter, and my daughter had her camera bag. The Porter itself is quite sturdy and well-sewn; while a featherweight empty, fully loaded, it weighed 19 pounds, well under the weight limit. The adjustable padded shoulder, hip, and chest belts keep it comfortably in place and fit a chunky middle-aged mom quite well. Unneeded straps easily slip inside the cover. For a two-week summer trip, we took clothing ranging from leggings and tunics to dresses, cocktail gowns, and high heels, lingerie, sleepwear, and a ruana and three pairs of shoes each. The top pouch accommodates cosmetics and the requisite 3 ounce containers of liquid and makes them easy to access at TSA checkpoints, and still has enough room for medications which might be needed in flight, and even a paperback novel or my Kindle. The front-loading zip front access makes packing a breeze; much easier than a top loader like ones I've used in the past. Inexpensive packing cubes facilitated tight packing, and kept things from shifting or wrinkling, and we had everything we needed for two weeks. We did do laundry once while we were there, but we each had seven or eight individual outfits. On our return, we still had room for two purchased skirts, six pairs of ballet slippers, and six rolls of pink toilet paper for our flat, plus two glass bottles saved as souveniers. The Porter 46 fit easily in overhead bins, gate-checked them on our small commuter flight."

"Bought this bag to take on a 2 week trip around the UK and then a 2 1/2 week trip in SE Asia. I'm a petite framed woman (5Ƌ", 120lbs) so most backpacks are too big for me. this one fits my frame well and seems like it will hold what I need to take with me. My husband was so impressed with my selection that he ordered the Porter 65 and matching Daylite packs to take as well!"

"I purchased this bag is my primary bag for a 10 day trip to Europe. I am six feet two inches and this was an excellent choice as it's straightforward design holds a good amount of gear and it falls within the limits for a carry-on bag. I finally decided to follow the best travel advice you can give - pack light! This bag is great because you can easily strap it on your shoulders and then tuck away the straps to put in the overhead compartment of a plane or train. We found ourselves changing trains many times and climbing up floors of stairs - and having a portable bag is a must. Using packing cubes, I was able to fit two pairs of pants, 4 shirts, 4 tshirts, socks, underwear, a sweater, sneakers, and a shower kit in this bag! Don't be tempted to pack more, you can always hand wash a few things in the hotel sink or tub. The only downside of this bag is that its not checkpoint friendly. The compression straps and heavy zipper make it a little awkward to open at security or immigration. Overall, I would highly recommend this bag."

"This bag is amazing. I can pack for a 5 day business trip and still be smaller than most other carry on bags. The fact that it fits as a backpack makes it very easy to navigate the airports especally when rushing from one gate to another. I plan on buying the next size up for longer vacations."

"Just FYI, this bag does not come with a shoulder strap or attachment points to attach one. Otherwise, it is a high quality bag.+"

"I bought this bag to use on a 2 week tour of the UK & Ireland. It performed wonderfully! I loved being able to wear it as a backpack and quickly switch to carrying it by the side strap. My only complaint is that the current model does not come with a shoulder strap, and does not seem to have attachment points for one."

"Great bag so far...... have only used it a couple of times but have a longer trip coming up. I'm really looking forward to using it. Better than most duffle bags. Loads nicely."

"I loved this bag. I was planning an extended trip overseas and was searching for an alternative to the usual square-shaped, rolling carry-on bags because I knew i would be shoving through crowds and going up and down lots of steps. I wanted a "backpack-like" product and the Osprey Porter 46 fit the bill perfectly. It is lightweight and is ingeniously engineered to provide good hideway for the back and waist straps, a nice pocket on top for the things you want to access quickly, and plenty of open storage. I carried all my toiletries, an extra pair of shoes, six pair of pants, two dress shirts, four polos, and several pair of socks and underwear. I even had room for a small umbrella and some small tourist purchases. Even with all that, my bag easily fit into the overhead bins or under the seat in front of me for all my flights. Even on smaller planes, I did not have to have it checked plane-side."
