"I bought this strap to go around a suitcase carrying my folding bicycle. It was partly to make sure the suitcase doesn't come open unintentionally (though I have no reason to distrust the closures on the suitcase). But it was mostly so I could write "folding bicycle inside" on it for the benefit of TSA (so they wouldn't see the x-ray and think I was transporting a weapon of mass destruction). It's been on 3 plane rides so far without a problem. As you might expect, it gets a bit scuffed, marked, and beat up in baggage handling. Its beauty is transitory. But it doesn't unbuckle or break, and that means it's doing its job. For what it's worth, the strap itself (quite sturdy) has the Samsonite logo woven into the fabric. It's subtle, but if you don't want to serve as free advertising, you might want to go with something more generic."
