"Only problem was the pulls on the zippers. They kept coming untied and most were lost. This was very annoying. It made using the zippers very difficult. I had to use zip-ties and string. Should not have to do this on a product of this quality and price. Otherwise it is a quality product, very durable."

"I would highly recommend this bag for those taking a weekend roadtrip or a few nights out of town. First, the expansion zippers leave a ton of extra room. You can easily pack 3 days worth of clothes, a bag of personal items, an extra pair of shoes and still have some room to spare. I've taken this bag overseas and it will definitely fit in an overhead storage space, or if you are packing light use the compression straps and it will slide under the seat in front (barely). Additionally the front storage spaces leave additional room to pack items you want to access easier. I used one to pack some snacks for a roadtrip and the other to carry my camera, phone, Ipod, deck of cards, spare change, and map. If you really pack heavy, you can also use the additional strap to carry the bag aross the neck and body messenger bag style. I will say fully packed it is a bit bulky on your back while walking, but the extra space it offers is really worth it. Construction is very durable as well and the metal supports in the bag allows it to keep it's form and not droop over. Highly recommend for the casual weekend traveler, but not to be used to pack more than 4 days worth of clothing and misc. items."

"The Bugout Bag is better than I expected. The design is excellent. I especially appreciate the efficiency of the design, i.e. it holds more stuff than my old, nearly identically sized bag even without unzipping the expansion zippers. The small compartments were much more logically arranged than in other designs I've seen. The aluminum back stays give the bag useful structure. The lateral adjustable straps on the sides don't seem useful to me, but I'm not using it for camping, so I'll reserve judgement. The bag seems adequately rugged, and is better looking than I had expected."

"I have been searching for a bag that could double as a book-bag or travel-bag for quite a long while. This bag fits the bill on all levels. The price was good too. I really love the multiple compartments which make it easy to organize my material. The bag also has support for my laptop. Here are the few drawbacks that I found with this bag: I found that the material is somewhat light-weight and frail. From looking at the pictures online, I was expecting a sturdier and more padded looking bag. I also do not like the thread-type zippers that are used as they could easily be untied. Also the bag is NOT water proof and I already got a few books and papers wet from walking in the rain with it. My BIGGEST disappointment with this bag is the fact that it does not have a water bottle holder. I found it hard to believe that such a robust and well designed bag would not have this simple compartment. I have to put my water bottle inside of the bag itself which is inconvenient. Overall though, I am very pleased with my purchase of this bag. I really like its large capacity which makes for a very versatile bag. it holds all the books I need for school and seems like it will come in very handy for keeping clothes that I'll need on my next trip. Only wished that it had a water-bottle compartment!"

"I signed up for Ebags at my wife's insistence looking for a replacement pack for my 'High Sierra' pack purchased in 2006. It has cosmetic wear but will only take so much more abuse before the eventual rip. I could not find an equivalent High Sierra pack. SOC and Maxpedition made the cut. I chose and purchased 2 SOC Bugout Bags on discounted price alone, during the annual June 30 off sale since packs come and go. If the Bugout Bag wasn't what I expected, then I could just send one or both back. The Bugout Bag is exactly what is written and more. It might even allow elimination of a checked bag when I am not carrying forbidden items for the passenger cabin. The bags arrived as scheduled. Some say you can pack an extra pair of shoes and three days of clothes. If you wear pressed shirts, a suit or sport coat that aren't worn on the plane or cold/foul weather gear, then maybe yes. I can pack a full 5 day set of my consulting clothes and an extra pair of shoes(your choice) plus all my personal needs with the lower compartment expanded by packing efficiently and wearing my sport coat. The 3 layers of outer storage pockets provide ample organization for all of my business and computer supplies needs, zippered pockets in each layer, a strapped pocket for my laptop, PAL loops, a large loop pad, excellent suspension system make this a great pack for a 'common sense' road warrior or independent business man or woman.I plan to use one for travel and keep one packed as a secondary Bugout Bag. (Hear my wife smirk?) We live in hurricane country! If you must keep a bag packed and ready with a complete set of your needs and clothes, including a 'real Bugout Bag' then the Bugout Bag is a good choice for you. The Bugout Bag will also suit any short term back packing needs as is or longer with accessory bags strapped to the outsideThe only negative is the Bugout Bag is slightly heavy at 5 lbs 12 oz.This bag is a bargain at the normal price. Will buy again if available when I need one."

"This was a 2nd backpack cloning my 5.11 Rush 72. It fits the same amount of items with exception to the expandable feature which generates even more room! Compared to my Rush 72 this is less comfortable but the side handle and the shoulder strap make up for it as it becomes really versatile. I'm not so impressed with the stitching. I already had to cut some off so it won't snag but with the lifetime warranty I feel a lot better abusing it."

"I use this backpack daily on my deployment. I have never been short of room within the pack for whatever I happen to need on that day in question. The quality of and design of the item are far superior to the assault pack I was issued. The price is also far lower then most of the backpacks in Multicam."

"This is new and won't go out for our fist outing until bout a month from now. I did unpack it and look it over and over all appears fine. The one item that concerns me is one zipper on the outer compartment to expand it won't unzip I've tried everything and it won't unzip. Now being it's brand new I expect the zippers to all work."

"I'm an artist. This is the perfect bag for transporting all my paint supplies, easle, umbrella, and my lunch! I'm very excited about being able to scrabble over rocks with ease and set up where ever I see fit. Remarkable design. Highly recommend it to any artist non/artist alike."

"I'm a deployed flight medic in the National Guard, we are required to have multiple things with us at all times, the S.O.C Bugout Bag, makes that very easy to include the ability to put a water source in the back. Thank you!!"
