The Sak Ventura Convertible Backpack 

"This is a great backpack that converts to a shoulder bag, has ample room with multiple interior pockets and is very durable. I bought this style bag as I have neck problems and find that a one shoulder or messenger bag puts too much strain on my neck. The double straps are comfortable and do not dig into the shoulders, however I find that the design makes them wide-set and I often need to adjust the position of the straps so they don't slip. Although the bag is durable, I find the leather a bit tough and would have preferred a more supple material with richer color (I purchased the olive). I am hoping it gets softer with use. Otherwise it is very functional and holds just the right amount of stuff without being bulky on the subway ride to work."

"The purse is larager than I usually use, but I plan on using it as a backpack so will need the extra room. The shoulder strap is uncomfortable on the shoulder and has to be used across the body. Can't tell you how it works as a backpack because I haven't used it as that yet."

"I saw this item on a trip to Europe and thought it was so smart! It's a handbag and backpack all in one and the perfect size for purse stuff and a tablet (ipad). It looks great also! My biggest complaint and I would return it if I could because of this is that the outer snap does not stay shut. So- most of the time, when you carry it around, the outer flap is not closed. It does have a zipper closer underneath the flap, but with the outer flap open all of the time, it's distracting."
