"I ordered both the size M and L in this bag for my husband as I wasn't sure just how much either would hold. My husband determined that the M was perfect for him and all his necessities. He carries a 15" laptop, iPad, various chargers, Bose headphones, carry on toiletry kit and many other business essentials both daily and for his world wide business travel. He needed a durable, stylish, roomy bag and this is it. The features that sold him on the bag was the TSA approved design (speeds him through the security line) and the slot on the back of the bag to slip over his carry on's handle. All in all, thrilled with it!"

"I previously owned the 2011 version of this bag and must say that the updated model is a vast improvement. First off, there's a real handle. Second, the shoulder strap doesn't get tangled nearly as much as the old model because it's now removable. Two subtle, but very worthwhile improvements that make it worth it to dump the old version. I actually think the 2012 Medium is a little smaller than the 2011 Medium, which gives it a better business look. The updated bag was definitely designed with the business/office user in mind, more so than the previous model. Like all Timbuk2 bags, there are plenty of pockets. But this bag has an extra padded pocket in the laptop section, and an iPad fits perfectly inside the smaller compartment. Another nice addition to the new model. Love the bag and am glad I made the switch."

"I bought this bag specifically to use as a carry-on/travel briefcase. It really does this well. From a tote-ability perspective, this is very well designed, durable, and flexible. My only criticisms are: 1) the pen/pocket organizer is on the inside of the main compartment instead of under the flap. Not a big deal - there are some nice zippered pockets under the flap. 2) the flap closing straps use a hook that is hard to use one-handed or "on the fly". Also, the excess strap seems quite long and dangly when the flap is cinched. I probably would have been fine with the small size instead of the medium. The medium size is larger than I expected. But, again, not a big deal - it's not like the extra space will go unused. It did seem a little pricey, until I got the item in-hand and saw the care and workmanship. It is an expensive nylon messenger bag, but it is very well made and well-designed. So.. net opinion: Very good."

"I moved from a rolling backpack laptop bag to the Timbuk2 Command messenger in medium size. All the stuff I had in my rolling bag fit in the medium messenger, but it weighs several pounds less. I particularly like the Napoleon pocket, which allows easy access to items with the bag closed up and slung over your shoulder. This should be perfect for boarding passes and IDs. Will update on the TSA friendly performance later."

"After a recent business trip to West Africa painfully punctuated the deficits of my previous bag I needed a change. I've owned many, but this is the best bag I've ever owned. It supports my bulky company laptop, my tablet, ereader, a couple of journals, and lots of other stuff without feeling heavy or straining my shoulder(s) or impeding natural walking movement. I've been wowed."

"This is a great laptop bag. It looks good and keeps the rain out. The laptop compartment is padded and there is a smaller padded pocket to put my NOOK-Color behind where the computer rests. On the negative side, I have to put the power supply cord in the main compartment or the bag gets out of balance and hangs funny. Also, I find that the S-shaped hooks that hold the flap closed are a little inconvenient to use one-handedly."

"The Timbuk2 Command Laptop Messenger bag was better than i expected. It is very comfortable and is made up of very fine materials. I usually ride my bike to school and use this bag and i was surprised to find that the bag reflects light. So its great while on the road because cars can see u better. I especially love that it has a slot for my laptop and a different one for my tablet. The laptop area has padding/cushion on the inside to give laptop special protection and the same can be said for the tablet slot. The colors are also amazing and they look good on practically all clothing styles. The strap that goes around your shoulder is very comfortable. my old bag gave me shoulder aches whenever i wore it for a long period of time. But these have yet to give me anything to complain about. This bag is amazing if you are looking for a messenger bag. I highly recommend this product. The price is not really a downside if u look at all the features it comes with. - padding for laptop/tablet - a lot of baggage space for other items (i.e books) - awesome colors (comes in different colors) - comfortable - easy to carry around (not bulky) - 1 slot for water bottle - can make it into a Velcro strap or leave the clip on it Overall rating 10 out of 10"

"I have been using this bag for 5 months in law school, and I am completely satisfied with it. It has held up to the wear and tear of daily use. The strap is comfortable. I am able to carry a full load of casebooks without the strap digging into my shoulder. I went with the black/grey model because it can easily pass for a (less formal) briefcase with the strap removed. I have a 15 inch laptop that I carry in the bag everyday, and I have had no problems with damage. Occasionally I think I may have been better off with a larger size, but for most days the medium is just perfect."

"I love this bag! I can't say enough about it. Out of the way cord pocket at the base is more useful thank I would have thought. I can safely carry laptop & tablet. Expandable so I can use it when going away for the weekend. Keeps things dry in the rain. Probably one of the best bags I've every bought for school or work!"

"Pretty good bag. Have owned it for about 6 months. The slip on buckles are a problem. They come off all the time. Would rather have regular snap buckles."
