"I have been using this carrier for years. A combination of normal wear and tear as well as a couple of spills recently during a trail run caused my first one to be sufficiently torn and required a replacement. The bottles themselves are good as well. The soft kicker valve allows me to easily drink while moving and easily closes. The valve does wear down over time and will tear/rip. Ultimate direction recently started offering replacement lids for sale as opposed to requiring purchase of a new bottle. Some of the new lids do have quality control issues in that the white area between the valve and the gray lid breaks. I have had several instances of breakage after use which to me is normal wear and tear, but I have also seen them come new this way. So inspect the lid carefully when received to ensure it is in good shape. My replacement bottle form eBags had this problem and they were quick to get a replacement to me."

"This is a great handheld water bottle. The bottle itself has grooves for your fingers and the strap holds it securely without loosening during your run. The pocket is large enough for one or two gels or in my case, for my mess of keys. The nozzle on the bottle is a bit different, you pull it out with your teeth and kindof bite to get your drink. It is definitely handy for running and being "hands free" but it might turn off some folks who want a traditional valve."
