"I used this bag for a 4 day cruise trip. It easily fit all the clothes/shoes/etc. I needed for that time, and I had no problem fitting it into the airline's overhead compartment. The benefit of soft bags like this is that you can usually squish them however you need to in order to get them to fit, and airline personnel don't question it when you go to carry them on. Since this is a new bag and I've only used it once, can't say too much about durability, but other Vera Bradley purchases have held up and washed well for me. While the bag worked well in terms of holding what I needed, it's probably a good choice only if you're not going to be carrying it around very much. With it being full, it was pretty heavy, and between walking around the airport and the ship, I was really, really wishing I had something with wheels on it. It would probably be perfect if you're doing a weekend car trip and just have to carry it from your car to a hotel lobby, but if you have lots of walking around to do, the carry-on rolling satchel is worth looking into as an alternative. It's about the same size--a tiny bit smaller--but does have wheels."
