"I bought this for my 8yr old son with a learning disability to use for school. He takes very good care of his things and since I drive him to and from school there are no other kids messing with his bag or damaging it. I gave it to him on Christmas break so he began using it in jan of 2013 & by may its falling apart at several places. He carries a 3 in binder with about 3, 2 sub notebooks , lunch box, & a stainless steel thermos on the side so I don't think it's over loaded. He gets out of the van and rolls across maybe 6 ft of concrete, 12 ft of tile, and the rest carpet to his classroom and I carry it in house. I don't know if the material is defective but I won't get another in this style."

"I usually do not take the time to do reviews on my online purchases, but I was disgusted with the result of a recent effort to correct a problem with a CalPak rolling backpack. The problem with this backpack began about 4 months after I purchased it. The inside lining ripped and it continued to get worse after several more months of use. I was just a few days outside of one year of purchase when I pursued a fix for this issue. I decided to contact CalPak to see what I needed to do to get it replaced or repaired. I had to jump through too many hoops to try to get a resolution to a replacement. In the end it would have cost me more to return the backpack for possible repair than what I paid to start with. This company has "customer no service.""

"The kids need to go up and down 4 steps on their way to school and as they drag the backpack over the steps they "wear" through the bottom of their backpacks. Reinforcing the bottom section of the bag would make this a great product."
