"My first dakine bag was a Dakine Campus SM, after two years, the zipper started to split. They replaced it with no hassle because of their awesome lifetime warrenty. I ended up getting a Dakine Explorer as a replacement. I've had the replacement for another two years with no problems. Unfortunatly, my cat decided to claim it as his and sprayed it. I had to toss it and order a new bag...my go to choice was another Dakine Explorer. The bag holds up no problem under tough use. I was a film student (just graduated, yea!), and it was common place for it to hold my editing laptop, my ipad, cords for both, a notebook, plus various camera equipment (gaff tape, digital recorders, mics, xlr, etc.). Everything stayed safe and sound. My only real problem is that the adjustable straps that run from the shoulder straps to the bottom of the bag tend to slip a bit if you have excessive weight in the bag. My experience with dakine has lead me to purchase the Dakine Mission Photo Bag to hold my camera and accessories, in addition to my explorer bag. Dakine makes great stuff, and better yet, they stand behind its quality. Next up for me is dakine luggage..."

"I got this for my son, now a college student in Boston. It replaces the very same model, which he had¿and abused¿for four years. He liked it so much that even after checking out alternatives, he wanted the very same backpack, just in a new color. It's the perfect size, protects his laptop well, and holds everything else he needs. He is rarely without this backpack. It's good-looking, very well-designed, comfortable, and extremely sturdy. If it is still available in a few years after he has destroyed this one, he'll probably want the same backpack again!"

"PROS This bag really looks great. I got the Stencil color and it has a really cool Tron vibe to it. Skate straps are a nice touch though I don't use them much. It's decently sized and holds quite a bit of stuff, about 2 accordion files and some folders and a small lunchbox, a laptop (if you're wondering, the 15" MacBook Pro is a snug fit), a book or two, and if you really stuff it, a hoodie too. Full or not, this pack looks like it belongs on your back; there's none of the droopy empty pack appearance to be found. I'm a high school student, so this pack gets a lot of use. The material of the main part of the pack feels fairly durable, but that doesn't mean you can drag it around everywhere. CONS There are so many, which is unfortunate, considering I really like the style of the pack. I don't know if it's particular to mine or is a flaw of these packs in general, but the stitching quality is abysmal. About a month of light use in the summer after I got the pack, the stitching holding the chest strap to the little elastic bit came undone. Additionally, the thicker looking part of the straps on the edge that's a different material from the strap began to fray about three months of use. I don't think that the strap itself is going to fall off, but it looks like it's in terrible shape. A big gripe I have about this pack is that mine appears to be a different version than the pack described on the tag of the pack. The tag shows that the small compartment has a zippered pouch, which mine does not. A smaller complaint I have is not really that important, seeing as it is a result of the pack looking so nice on my back. The pack tapers downwards, so it feels like I can't put as much in it, but I always find a way to make everything fit."
