The creation of the EXO 2.0 Hardside Spinner Luggage began with one simple question; What are consumers really looking for when choosing hard shell spinner luggage? A diamond patterned mirror-finish that remains bright but hides abrasion marks. Oversized #10 coil zippers. Best of the Best
An item achieves "Best of the Best" distinction when eBags customers give it exceptionally high marks in their post-purchase reviews. In order for an item to be "Best of the Best," it must meet the following criteria:
The overall rating must be 4.5 out of 5 stars or better.
90% or more of customers must say they would recommend it.
"I am a frequent international traveler, and this is one of the nicest hard side luggage sets I own. It's light, and the wheels rotate freely in all directions so the cases can be rolled upright with out tipping them forward, making them easy to navigate in tight places, such as an airplane aisle.
But the nicest feature is the built-in TSA locks. What a nice bit of design work! Unlike adding a separately purchased lock, the lock is recessed and tight against the case, making it far less likely to be snagged by those gentle folk in baggage handling, or lost by a disorganized traveler when it's needed.
My only complaint is the very large eBags logo stamped into the plastic side of each case. I don't wear T-shirts advertizing products, and I really don't want it on my luggage either."
"I first bought the EXO 1 version in mid 2011. I travel about 300,000 miles per year (fly weekly) and while sady my first two bags have passed they served well and I recommend this bag to people all the time...
Don't let the fact that I am just now having my second replacement keep you from ordering this bag because it is truly a marvel and this post is a testament to how durable the bag is as well as how well eBags stands behind it...
Both of the previous bags were still functional with the exception of accumulated damage courtesy of the airlines eventually compromising a corner or something slightly.
For someone who travelled less than my 300,000 per year this bag would last a lifetime probably, but for someone who travels as much as I you won't find more durability than this series has in ANY bag at any price!
Now for the fun part... if you have the time waiting in line at the airport on the tile floors and if you practice you can learn to spin it under the palm of one hand with a circular motion and get it spinning quite fast because it's a very well balanced bag... ok, so maybe not exactly fun, but challenging to master and passes that time in line...
Bottom line is... GREAT BAG! I'd say I'd order another but with a lifetime warranty I don't need to because they really do stand behind the warranty."
"Love the ease of wheeling this bag around, its super light weight, how easily it fits in an overhead bin (the smaller bag of the set), and the impressive amount of clothing it holds. Two minor drawbacks: lack of a place on the outside for an ID, and too slippery to stack on another bag easily."
"Great set of bags! This was my leap to hard-side luggage. It's great for when you have (or want to keep) a fixed amount of storage and have the lighter weight and durability that this luggage offers. The suitcases don't expand, but I don't shop much on work travel anyway. The bright yellow color is easy to spot on the conveyor belt. The little one stores inside the big one. And - the biggest plus for me - cat hair does not stick to this bag and the little buggers can't scratch it up! My other (fabric) luggage was always so catty and unprofessional looking. If you have cats, you KNOW that fabric luggage doubles as a cat bed (obviously)."
"Well made suitcase. Wheels excellent. When you open the suitcase, put stuff in and close it, the top part of the suitcase sinks into the second part. You have to pull it up to zip the suitcase. I think if my case had more stuff in it, this would not happen.
But the suitcase is VERY well made. I made one trip with it; durable finish and fit.
The lock was damaged by the baggage handlers. The outer casing of the lock was bent. I called ebags and a lock was sent to me promptly. So the company stands behind their product as well."
"Large unit was perfect. The smaller one, to use as a carry-on, holds less than my soft-side carry-on. I miss the outside pockets, but it's the volume that may cause me to use my soft-side over the hard side on weekend trips."
"This luggage is very durable. I've used this luggage on numerous flights with no damage to the exterior. The wheels roll easily when pushed with one hand. I wish I would have bought this years ago."
"The very bumpy surface of these suitcases makes it really difficult to keep stickers on them, like the airline barcode stickers. The locks can be quite difficult to latch if the suitcase is not perfectly full. We bought three sets (full-size and carry-on size), and the first time we used them, the lock on one full-size suitcase broke apart during transit. Additionally, the colored, bumpy exterior has scraped off of the ridges on several of the suitcases where they were dragged or rubbed against while in airport care. The side handle is very shallow, and since the exterior of the suitcase is so bumpy (like little pyramid-shaped bumps), the suitcase scratches your knuckles when you use that handle (and I have very small hands - my husband really can't use those handles at all because they are too shallow). The top handles that extend have a very hard time staying in several of the heights, so we are often stuck using them fully extended or all the way shut if we are trying to grab our bags and go in a hurry. Additionally, the top handles for the full-size suitcase and the carry-on suitcases don't extend at the same heights, so you can't have them both at the same height to easily transport them in the same hand. The wheels on these suitcases are very hard plastic. They have held up well to lots of hard use through many airports, sidewalks, roads, and cobblestone streets. The wheels are very difficult to use on carpeting, so you usually have to pull the suitcases through hotels, which is very annoying. Additionally, the really hard plastic wheels are super loud whenever the floor isn't perfectly flat and smooth, which it almost never is. Other than that, these suitcases have protected glass items being transported and have put up with a lot of use being hauled all over via planes, trains, and lots of walking through 9 different countries."
"Overall this is a great value and not only in compliance with the airline regulation but also gives you the maximum amount of space with the least amount of unusable pockets and things inside. It seems well balanced although how you pack your bags has something to do with that also (heavy items on the bottom) but I carry a briefcase on it also so its stable with the briefcase on the handle. There are some improvements that I really wish were there. The biggest is quiet wheels. These are not bad wheels, just really loud because they are hard plastic. This really needs to change for the business traveler and boarderline unacceptable to me as its really irritating after flying for 12+ hours and hearing every rotation on the floor and even worse on concrete, tile or asphalt. Especially when in an office of a client. Yikes. Even if you made this an option I would gladly add a few $$. Minor suggestions would be to add a smoother surface, not a big deal. One other option for Ebags would be to show the optimum packing for these bags using your cubes. Other than the noise which really needs to be fixed, these are really good bags and you can't beat the warranty. After my last trip I do have an update. The thin wheels don't work well on carpet or really rough surfaces unless you lean it and pull with 2 wheels. The wheels need to be wider and quieter. I bought this for my wife but due to a breakdown of my old Pathfinder I had to use her's for a trip which was interesting considering it is purple. All that aside, I couldn't use this for everyday travel with these wheels. It is well built, warranty is great but wheels make it unusable for business travel frequently."
"My brother in law purchased a set and I was so impressed with the ease of maneuverability and handling that I immediately started my own research into durability, TSA compliance and capacity. One week later my wife and I each owned a set. We have not been disappointed."
