Designer Notes

It wasn't that long ago that flying used to be a fashionable affair. People would dress nicely (no sweat pants) & act like grown-ups (no air-rage). The Fortis Hardside Spinner Carry-On is all about elegance, respect, and quality that also fits in an overhead. We've created a luxurious exterior that is at the same time, tough enough for today's travel demands. An interior that's nicer than the inside of most suits, and the quietest wheels you'll find on any spinner luggage. Enjoy!

" I'm in capital sales & am a bigger guy (6'2", 200lbs). I'm in awe at the Fortis along with the eBags branded packing cubes/FlatToiletry bag, etc. My colleagues swear by Tumi-but I've seen the terror they go through when gate check would occur-it is inevitable that dmg will happen to their high priced bags. I opted to give E-Bags a whirl-figuring if it doesn't hold-up, at least I'm not out $1k+--BEST DECISION EVER!!!! I've been travelling with this bag now for over 2 months--packing for for 3-5 days /week every week-my thoughts: 1) Get the Packing Cubes, shoe bag, & Lay Flat Toiletry bag to Maximize use of the Fortis--I'll wear dress shoes, slacks, belt & dress shirt to airport but inside the bag, the contents are typically as follows (NOT expanded, mind you); a full suit (44R Jacket, 34x32 pants), 2 extra dress pants, 3 dress shirts, 4 ties, 4 undershirts, 5 undergarments(shirts, socks, shorts), 4 workout outfits (shirts, socks, shorts-athletic material, compression socks), 1pair of workout shoes (Nike Free Runners lay flat due to cloth uppers), 1 pair of causal shoes (Addidas boat style), 1 pair of casual shorts & 3 casual shirts--extra belt, casual jacket & hat, along with my toiletry bag, 1 quart carry-on, work-out exercise band, &flexible thin plastic cutting board to use as a folding board. NO WRINKLES 2) Get the Black(dark color)-- the baggage monsters at the airport use diamond plate metal carts when they transport gate checked bags at my airline & consistently leave bags out in rain uncovered while loading/unloading! Anything other than black would be a horror show but the Fortis design protects from rain while the ridges hides most of the handling damage. Weekly, I witness Tumi owners argue with airlines over dmg. 3) Spinners are great- carpet, easier to lean her over & roll on 2 due to twisting wiggle from aluminum risers on handle. 4) Expandable zipper option--HUGE PLUS--I now use on road trips, too. eBags--A MUST BUY product for the prfsnl traveller!"

"I bought this because I have the EXO 2.0 Hardside carry on and love it! But, the EXO doesn't expand, so I was excited to see this was an expansion piece. It fits a lot of items expanded - I packed for a 4 day business trip with 2 pairs of shoes, plus exercise wear (including sneakers). It all fit very nicely. And, it was manageable. However, the Fortis does not maneuver nearly as well as the EXO does - I had to keep a firm grip on the handle and apply a twisting pressure to keep the suitcase rolling in a straight line. Additionally, the lock does not work well. Due to the soft Polycarbonate shell, the shell flexes. That means that the lock also moves in and out and is not at an angle to snap in the 2 zipper tabs easily. You have to have it at just the right angle for the lock to work. "

"I wanted to wait to review this bag until taking it on some trips - I've now used it for 4 trips. I've had no issues fitting it in the overhead airline bin (I fly southwest). It also rolls very smoothly. I love the expandable feature on the bag and was very surprised at how much many things I can fit in there. I'm not easy on my luggage and expect quality pieces to last. I did accidentally drop it down a small flight of concrete stairs - there were a few small cosmetic scratches to one of the corners but no other damage to the bag/wheels. I think the ridges on the bag really helped to reduce any damage - probably would have shown damage if it was just a smooth outer surface. I have several pieces of spinner luggage and this one is now my go to and favorite piece. "
