Zippered mesh panel inside the lid of the main compartment helps to divide and organize - many customers place dirty clothes in one side to keep them separated from clean ones.
Fold-down shelf in the main packing compartment splits the space in half and reduces the shifting of contents to the bottom. If you don’t want to use it, un-snap it and fold it down.
Internal tie-down straps in the main compartment are generous in length and adjust from "high" to "low" cinch positions, keeping contents from shifting.
When clipped into the “high” position, the tie down straps function as internal compression straps pulling down on the TOP of your clothes as well as the side gussets which prevents clothes from getting excessively wrinkled. When clipped “low”, they pull from the bottom edges should you wish to secure items underneath clothing.
Snap-out zippered mini-pocket at the top of the compartment which helps keep small items, such as prescriptions, separated and easily accessible to keep on your person.
The double-zip “U” shaped front compartment features a travel organizer pen pocket, phone pocket, medium and large zippered pockets, zippered mesh pocket, and an extra-long key leash.
Zippered "forehead" pocket is a convenient place to store 3oz liquids for easy access at Security.
Vertical zippered front face pocket is perfect for boarding passes and will not “walk open” no matter how long your journey.
A discrete water bottle pocket stores inside a zippered pocket, for better checked-baggage durability.
Hidden inside the zippered pouch pocket is the TLS ID pocket so you won't ever need to worry about losing a luggage tag.
Four exterior compression straps are carefully placed to provide maximum compression and reduced stress on the zippers. This way if you start your journey with a partially packed bag, you have a way to prevent the contents from sloshing around.
Hide-away contoured backpack straps are generously padded with Airmesh and feature a fully adjustable/removable sternum strap system - this way you can carry the bag comfortably as a backpack or convert it into a suitcase. We also included a removable shoulder strap so you can carry the bag as a duffel.
Accessory loops are well placed, and the shoulder strap webbing is easily adjusted with a tug on the thumb-loop speed-cinch webbing
Self-repairing YKK® coil zippers use double sliders on almost all openings. Some have pullers that use photo-reflective sport cords for nighttime safety.
Lockable D-rings on primary zippers discourage tampering and keep luggage locks in a consistent location
Three padded grab handles (top, bottom, side) for safe lifting from trunks and overhead compartments, and from beneath a seat.
High-visibility 210D orange nylon lining makes finding your stuff a lot easier - plus it's fun!
Simple, effective, removable waist belt measures 48 inches fully extended
Total weight of bag only (without additional straps) is 3 lbs. 6 oz.
840D Twisted Filament Polyester exterior
Includes all premium YKK buckles to ensure a lifetime of use
Detailed Product Description
This is the ultimate solution to hands-free travel. The new eBags Mother Lode TLS Weekender Convertible Junior is the slightly smaller version of the original TLS Weekender that was featured in the San Francisco Chronicle Travel section in December 2009: "...Best-of-field award for design, materials and value."
Quite possibly the last Travel Pack you may ever need, this Carry-on Convertible is loaded with smart features; If your laptop's middle dimension (width) is no more than 11.75", and the longest dimension (length) is between 10.0" and 19.0" (17.5" for the Junior), the Laptop Sling will adjust for a perfect fit, expandable compartment, contoured Airmesh backpack straps, travel organizer, fold down shelf, the list goes on and on - and at 3.7 lbs, it's amazingly light weight.
Customer feedback inspired us to build a smaller version of our TLS Weekender Convertible. If you are smaller framed and have a shorter torso, the TLS Weekender Junior is the perfect hands-free carry-on convertible. Enjoy! Bernard Majeau, Director, Product Development

"Let me start by saying, I used to use a spinner 21" carry-on suitcase when I'd fly, but with more and more travelers bringing carry-on luggage (rather than checking bags) I found that the overhead space was usually full on my flights. Because of that, I'd either have to check my suitcase at the gate or stick it in a space nowhere near my seat. Well, last year, I began to pack a backpack rather than a suitcase, so I would have the option of stowing the bag under my seat in case the overhead was full. I took 7 week-long trips last year and tried several different backpacks, but not a single one offered all of the features I was looking for. So, I purchased this bag a month ago hoping it would be the perfect one. Turns out, I absolutely love it! I just returned from a casual, week long trip to Houston, and this bag held so much more than I ever could have imagined! I am an over-packer, and with this being a "junior" bag, I thought it might be too small, but it was far from it. I was able to pack 2 pairs of jeans, a set of pj's, workout/sweat pants, 10 tops, a cardigan sweater, a belt and a scarf, a pair of flats (shoes), all of my undergarments, my purse and a 9" tablet, my toiletry bag, and a 1/2" binder. The bag was lightweight, easy to carry, had comfortable straps, and best of all, had a slim profile! It was not bulky at all, thanks to the overall design & the compression straps. The organization was well-thought out and suited my every need. I returned from my trip with additional items (8 fleece headwraps) but it was completely unnoticeable! I was so impressed with this bag that I plan on using it on all of my future flights. No more backpack testing for me, I've finally found the best one!
However, if I could change one thing (and this is a very minor issue for me) I would want a thicker, more stable water bottle holder. The one on this bag is sort of flimsy."
"love...LOVE this bag! After about four months of searching I finally found this bag on a travel blog (herpackinglist.com I think?) and was soooooo relieved to find it. While planning a long term solo trip through Africa I was looking for a bag that met all my requirements because I knew I would be living out of it for a while.
I narrowed my search down to 2 very highly rated bags but was disappointed by the price of one ($300!) and the size of the other (too big to carry on). This bag was everything I was looking for at half the price. I prefer to travel in one carry on (without even a personal bag) and what I love about this bag is the compartments and organization for those smaller items that typically go in a daypack or purse. I have nothing but good things to say about it: the turquoise is so much cuter than most bags out there - important for me, the front loading zipper is world class (stuffed it to the brim daily for 2 months and never ripped or tore), the LAPTOP SLEEVE!, the lockable zippers, the expander, the "shelf", the extra handles, the removable straps. All in all, this is the perfect bag (for me anyway). And it never felt any heavier than any other bag I've carried and stuffed past capacity. Only got asked to check it a few times on South Africa Airways because I exceeded the weight restriction (not a fault of the bag). Now, if you're truly "backpacking"/hiking, it probably won't be a good fit due to the straps, but if you're just moving from airport to train station to hostel to bus, this is your bag! I spent 2 months living out of this bag in Africa this past summer and now I use it for any trip longer than a weekend. Buy this bag!"

"Bought this backpack for a 9 day trip through Germany. We switched hotels every night and walked around during the days. This bag saved my back and held everything I needed to make the trip comfortable. My mom and sister had rolling bags that they struggled to get down cobblestone streets. Not me! Load it up and go! I went back and forth between the Junior and the full size. I think the full size would have been too big and wouldn't have fit in most overhead bins on the planes. In a pinch, I could shove the junior under the seat in front of me. (It took all my leg room but that was better than checking it!) I use it now (that I'm not traveling) to cart around photography props but it will go on every long distance trip I take from now on."
