"I've had this Vertical Mobile Office since Dec., 2014 (almost 2 years), so that's probably ample time to say what I like and don't like about it. Generally, I like this piece, it is very sturdy and the design of the interior space is better than any others I have used. However, I do a lot of international travel and there are some issues (I'll get to that in a moment) - also I am over 6 feet tall and that's a problem with this bag. So, what's wrong with being rather tall? This bag has a builtin counterweight in the bottom. It works well if the angle of the handle from the ground is large enough, but the taller you are, the more upright (or sharp) the angle of the handle and this causes the bag to "roll up" on you so that it is too upright and won't roll properly ... it will wobble from wheel to wheel, side to side, until you stop walking. Start again and within a few strides the rocking and wobbling will start again. This is particularly annoying if you are rolling a regular suitcase with your other hand and you have to stop repeatedly to get the mobile office to stop rocking from wheel to wheel. So, taller people be aware of this ... also if you are taller, this bag will "roll up" on the back of your legs as you try to get on an escalator - requires practice to get it to stay on it's own step and you'll actually have to pay attention to this every time you get on an escalator. The counterweight is heavy and many international airlines attempt to enforce a maximum carry-on weight of 7 to 8kg. The bag is heavy and adding a computer, power supply, mouse, camera and a few other items will quickly get you into an "overweight" condition. Also, don't overpack it, even if is flexible enough to allow that - because it is then too fat to slide into many of the overhead compartments in various planes. Some airlines even make you slip the bag into a size form and this one is easily too fat. Needs a handle on the side (toss the strap!). Well built, tough. Pull up handle sturdy."

"I travel for a living, and I travel heavy, as a trainer I commonly carry a laptop, one or two netbooks, my iPad, a projector, books and some wireless equipment. Hauling all that junk in a laptop backpack was getting ridiculous. This bag is golden. I have my laptop in a separate sleeve in the back compartment for fast access, the rest gets spread out between the bigger pockets. Even with all my junk I have access to anything quickly. The way I stuff this bag it makes a large carry on and on smaller jets I may need to pull the laptop out of the back allowing the middle compartment to collapse giving the bag a shorter profile. Also don't underestimate the sideways design, I can't tell you how many people I have seen struggle to get a wide roller down the isle on a plane, I have not yet had an issue of it being too wide. As for durability, all my other luggage is Boyt or Tumi and indestructible, I destroy cheaper luggage but, after nearly a year with this bag it is showing little signs or wear. I might be disappointed in not getting to use that lifetime warranty"
"While it says it is a "mobile office" I got this to use as a carry on for my trip to Europe. Great things about this bag:
1) lots of room
2) Nice organization (pockets and such) And I do appreciate the ability to store things around the handle casing within the bag. Usually this is wasted space.
3) Durable - the wheels ran smooth as silk and the material held up. The zippers feel solid. I had another bag (camera gear - fairly heavy) resting on top of this one as I went through airports. Held up, and the bag never fell over.
4) Fits well in an airplane. Pulled it down the airplane aisle between the seats without hitting anyone. Also, it fits under the seat even on some of the smaller planes. And usually, from my town to the hub, I get a small plane.
All in all, very happy with this purchase. Would definitely recommend, and if needed, would definitely buy again."
"I can't believe that this bag really does fit under any seat on all of the different sized aircrafts I've travelled on. It's perfect to have all of my 'purse' type items as well as a change of clothing and my laptop and all the cords etc. AND my ipad. It's sturdy and solid, but it's very light and easy to roll around, or carry with the shoulder strap or handles. Love it."
"I currently own the other ebags mobile office (non vertical). so I would like to do a comparison. The other bag is fantastic, durable (i've owned it for 1 year), well organized and fits a whole lot. I use it for work to take my laptop back and forth and also go to school at night and take several books with me and everything fits perfectly. My only issue with the original mobile office, is that i was having a hard time getting through the aisles in class. All the other students also bring rolling backpacks, so getting in and out was a little annoying, but doable.
I was looking online actually for a gift and saw that ebags came out with a vertical version and decided to give it a try. all of my usual items fit, a slightly bit snugger but it all still fits. I have to get used to the vertical aspect of it and having to stack my books up instead of side by side, so i see that this will be the annoying aspect of this bag, but at least i won't be having a hard time going in and out of aisles.
the size comparison is almost identical. the telescoping handle is actually a bit taller than the original bag which is fine with me since I'm 5Ǝ", the other bag was very good too, no complaints. the interior space is a little tiny bit narrower than the original one, but i don't really see this to be that big of an issue. I assume this bag will be just as durable, so I am very happy with my purchase.
If you're looking to have it all, either one of these bags will do the job, I have not seen a better bag out there. I have a targus rolling laptop bag as well for my son and he's only had it a few months and the bottom is already warn out and don't see it lasting passed this year. I have pictures I was hoping to post to show the comparison but i don't see that i can do that here. Hopefully ebags will post a video soon. Hope this helps."
"I really like this rolling bag. It has many pockets and compartments which help me stay organized. I am a college professor and use it daily to haul books, binders, papers, markers, etc. The front section has a zipper that allows it to open completely, so it is very easy to get things in and out, or to look for items without having to take everything out. I do not use it to carry a lap top, but I use that section for a water bottle, stapler, flashlight, etc. I am pretty hard on these bags and it is holding up well thus far. I drag it up and down stairs and roll it through the rain. It never tips over like my last bag did. It's pretty big and gets heavy with all the junk that I put in it - but it is exactly right for me and I love it. This is the fifth eBags item that I have purchased. They have all been well made and durable."

"I am a big fan of eBags and the TLS vertical office is my fourth bag from them. I use the TLSVMO for short business trips, it's perfect for briefcase type stuff and clothes. I can secure all my electronic gizmos and wires, plus my laptop. Well placed pockets both inside and out. The bag is much easier to get in overhead luggage than standard rollaboards. Its a bit big to fit under most of the space challenged seating on todays planes especially if you are a big guy like me and need the foot space. But the removalable laptop case and file folder are great for the small commuter jets and gate checking the bag. Over 30 years on the road, I have gone through some luggage. I have found the TLS collection to be one of the best line of luggage I have ever used."
"The TLS Vertical Mobile Office is absolutely excellent for travel and daily work. The adjustable handle is perfect for me since I'm 4ཇ" yet versatile for my 6' colleagues to use as well. It travels easily down the plane aisles because of it's shape - I no longer have to slow down at the plane door, snap the handle down, and struggle with the weight as I head off to my seat. It slips easily into the overhead compartment. I hope to try it under the seat on my next flight out. Access to my laptop is easy at the security checkpoint. Since I telecommute between office and my home, the TLS keeps me organized and convenient to work out of it because of the organization sections for my pens, folders, chargers, office supplies, etc. I especially like the pull out folder sleeve that keeps my Levenger Circa notebooks organized in the front section and my manila folders in the back. I could go on-and-on about this product. For my use, this TLS is simply the best. Only suggestion I can make is to create a bag that snaps shut with a sleeve to slip over the handle to hold my snack, my purse, and compartments for my phone, iPad, reading material, etc so that I can easily take it off my TLS and throw it under my plane seat while I stow my TLS on the overhead. Can't imagine anything else that would suit me more. I can count on this TLS (and the rest of the luggage line) to keep me organized even when my work (and my traveling attire) gets out of control!"
"This item is used to travel the world with me. It travels well in the back areas of the world. It has good space management, wheels are quiet, handle is well put together. Zippers are good size appears to take a good beating on second class travel. Good protection of computer even without the sleeve that comes with it. I have room to carry more books with me for teaching when I arrive. I would purchase it again in a heartbeat."
"Great organization features and the TLS Vertical Mobile Office fits well is when pulled or pushed down the narrow aisles of air planes. The lightweight construction keeps the weight down even when loaded with a laptop and everything else needed to support being mobile."
