"Not too bulky and lumpy. It may not work for everyone but I like the fact that it doesn't have a lot of small compartments on the outside, just the one flat zipper pocket (the diagonal zipper in the illustration). I wanted something that was flat and streamlined (better on a crowded train) and I like the tailored look. My 15" laptop fits perfectly. Except for a small interior side pocked (for a mouse or extra battery perhaps) the laptop sleeve is the only interior pocket or compartment. Again, this is fine for me since I'll usually be carrying books and work materials; I don't really need or want a lot of cubbies. It's also comfortable to wear, doesn't feel like it's dragging me down like some do. Sits just right, comfortable padded straps."
"I wanted something lightweight and more trim than most of the computer bags. I commute on a every weekday and typically only need room for an iPad or laptop and maybe a few papers. This bag is actually deeper than I wanted but it is smaller than most other bags, and it's light and nice looking. But it has almost no internal structure or compartments or padding so things flop around in it. That's ok for me but might not be for everyone."
"The reason why I purchased this backpack was because of my shoulder pain (that my doctor told me not to carry a heavy bag in one shoulder). I am not liking of carrying backpack in general because backside of a bag tends to bend or deform easily when the contents of the bag are either not filling adequately or too heavy. However, this Herschel bag cleared this issue and I am very pleased. It stays straight and won't deform (maybe because it's laptop bag?)."
