"We've bought 4 of these same types of backpacks in different styles over the past few years for our 2 teenage children, who, by the way, are VERY tough on their bags, and they have held up longer than any other backpack we've ever purchased. There's been some normal wear and tear but except for one broken zipper all 4 are still in good shape. They are also good bags for organizing all your "stuff" with all the different pockets. My kids don't have laptops but they use those compartments for their tablets which works well, too. Also, if you're looking for a LARGE bag, this is it. It holds plenty of big binders and books at the same time without a computer. With a computer, still quite a few large books and notebooks. This could easily be used for junior high, high school or college aged. But, in my opinion, it's MUCH too large for elementary age."

"Very well constructed backpack. I don't believe the picture (the one in black) does it much justice, overall a very aesthetically pleasing pack. Slightly smaller than I believed however still very roomy. I am a student and I am constantly carrying heavy loads for prolonged periods of time and so far( 3 months) it has held up very well with no visible wear and tear. The construction of the shoulder straps with sierra's suspension technology really does seem to lessen the load and trust me I would know! I still don't find much use to the straps on the outside but I'm sure they can be very useful as well. I highly recommend this backpack to anyone looking to get their money's worth. Only downside I would say that it does not have a handle, although it's implemented on the straps I feel as if holding it there with excess weight might damage the straps. Over all though great buy!"

"In the end i'm planning on returning this bag. It's too big. This is a pack only really suitable for a man or a very tall lady. If i cinch the straps so the bottom of the pack sits properly on my back, then the weird thing at the top doesn't fit my neck correctly. If i accomodate my neck, then the bulk of the weight sits uncomfortably low. It's just too big for me. It's not a question of quality or anything like that, it just doesn't fit."

"Truly a great backpack. I bought this for my daughter who's in 6th grade. Love the color/color combination with just enough white and grey to contrast the turquoise- and many different compartments that allow her to be more organized. The product developers have not missed a thing, and thought through all the details!! If you are looking for a high quality, versatile product then this is a perfect choice! Highly recommend it."

"I needed a backpack for a vacation with my family -- large enough to carry all of our rain jackets, water bottles and whatever else we needed; and yet compact enough where it doesn't slow us down in crowded places. So I basically chose something with compression straps, large size and good reviews.
The backpack tuned out to be comfortable enough where I just let i sit on my back unadjusted -- generally I didn't even notice it is there. Originally I was planning to give it to one of my kids after out vacation as a new school backpack, but I liked it so much I decided to keep it for myself (will probably get my kids the same one too, just in a different color)."

"This is a really nice backpack. I love all of the zippered compartments. The only thing that is a downfall is it is not wide enough. This was bought for my middle schooler and he does not have enough space for binders, lunchbox,and additional folders. We plan on passing this backpack down to another son."

Just what the doctor ordered
"Received my High Sierra backpack early in delivery window, in perfect condition and packing. Price excellent, quality to be determined after 2 weeks in France. Looked at MANY similar items, and this one met what I believe will be my requirements for years and trips to come. Great looking, comfortable bag; a suitable number of pockets, zippered and otherwise, plus two water bottle holders, which frees up my wife's concerns over schlepping her own bottle. This bag has so much storage that I'll be able to use it as the single carry-on to cover both my wife and I in the future, along with one large checked bag for both of us for 1-week trips to just about anywhere."
