"I have many luggage locks and do favor the spinner combo style like this (over the key style) - and especially love the cable closure vs. the hard metal latch as on my other, older models. The number dials are easily navigated and the proper stopping point is also very visible- great product for the piece of mind to be TSA compliant and secure."
"Tricky to set the combination. If you lose the pressure at all on the button while setting, the combination will be somewhere between what you intended and the default. I have one useless lock because of this. Instructions should state this caution clearer."
"Mixed feelings about this item. The longer cable is nice since it can easily be threaded thru zippers. It also allows you to easily twist the lock into view when you want to dial in the combination to unlock it. Here's the problem though... - Since the length of the cable causes the lock to hang a few inches off the bag it becomes an easy "handle" to grab and whip the bag around. That's apparently what happened to my wife's brand new suitcase on a trip from Costa Rica to Miami on American Airlines. We had to retrieve our bags to clear customs before boarding our connecting flight. At the baggage carousel someone was taking all the bags off the conveyor and lining them up. When we arrived we found our bags zipper torn loose and contents of the bag were strewn all over. The bag had been locked and our best guess was someone grabbed it by the lock instead of the real handle and it ripped the zipper off. Of course American Airlines would take no responsibility for the damage since they conveniently exclude zippers from their damage policy. Luckily the bag was an Ebag purchased here and Eric listened to our story and sent us a new bag under their lifetime warranty policy. I'm not sure if I'll use the locks again though. Perhaps I'll try something smaller that won't be as easy to grab."
