"I recently used my new Patagonia Arbor Pack on vacation to Nicaragua. It was roomy for packing all my carry-on needs in the airport and fit nicely under the seat in front of me. I also held it on on my lap on a boat ride over to one of the islands and it still looks great after getting wet. After purchasing and returning 2 other backpacks and 1 messenger bag because I didn't think they were stylish enough or didn't fit my needs, I saw the Patagonia Arbor Pack and knew it was exactly what I wanted. It was a little more than I wanted to spend, but I don't regret it after seeing and using it! There aren't many pockets or zippered areas if that is what you are looking for, but I kind of like that about this bag. I'm not in school anymore and didn't want a backpack that looks like I'm carrying textbooks and homework. On the flip side, I can see how items could get lost on the bottom of the bag if you put a lot in it - so I'm probably going to use a zippered pouch for odds and ends or just put them in the small front zippered pocket. This is a great backpack!"

"Good size. The material seems very good in quality and is nicely waterproof. However, it does not look like the picture. It's a rather dull navy blue rather than the shiny and sturdy color that appears in the picture. It is not feel fitted in structure - doesn't seem to have a design that accomodates human anatomy or the contents it is holding. The finishing is not quite asthetically pleasing either."

"Superbly designed, this pack is a direct descendent of the classic Chouinard (a now-defunct Patagonia brand) Summit Pack. Very good workmanship overall: seams are well finished, edges of fabric neat and tidy. Excellent fabric with soft hand though tough; straps are sturdy but not stiff. Though I don't do alpine climbs anymore, I still think this summit pack shape is useful for evening walks and weekend rambles. It can carry a sweater and a light parka, a 2-liter bottle of water, a pack of sandwiches plus a DSLR in a soft case and full-size binocular. Plus keys, small wallet etc. in pocket under the lid. Highly recommended."
