"I bought this because of the weight compared to size. This pack easily holds a 17" laptop, plus has ample room for books/binders. Both pockets are deep and the zippers are easy to use. High quality build expected of Patagonia and quality looks. Organization options are excellent. Felt-lined sunglasses pocket is big enough for a 6.5" phone. The water bottle pocket is deep and stretchy, accommodating a wide range of bottles. Also feels very secure. The bag feels well balanced when full and has great support. Cons: The straps can be a little narrow compared to other packs, but this may be to save on weight. The anchor is strong though. Also, there are probably too many straps (shoulders (normal), waist, chest, top side of pack, and sides of pack. Some can be used to keep the bag compact, but most are not needed for me. However, I use this pack as a student and for travel, less for adventure. The laptop pocket is a little strange. The zipper is actually beneath the primary straps and a little tedious to operate. Further, you can feel the flatness of the laptop on your back when your pack is full. It opens in a clamshell style to be TSA-ready. It is padded well, but the location is different. I don't mind it since I'm not opening it all the time, plus it helps with weight distribution. I assume this is why they did it. The front of the pack has one large, deep quick-stash pocket, but it isn't the easiest for small items. The quick storage pockets are the small pocket on top and the one on the side. Lastly, the key ring hook is not very impressive; it could be much better. Overall, it is a great pack that is half the weight of its competition. I see myself using it in any situation and would recommend it to anyone. I searched for many bags, looking for just the right one. This is the best one I saw. 4/5 stars."

"This is a very lightweight bag with very comfortable padding and shoulder straps. It's narrower but slightly longer than most other backpacks and therefore even with heavy loads, I've been to able to comfortably walk and even jog at times without feeling the heavy weight on my back. I've carried this during rain storms a couple of times and all my contents including my laptop remained dry. The laptop section on the back is difficult to get to since its hidden behind the shoulder straps. While this is a TSA compliant backpack, Unzipping the laptop sleeve takes additional time, even after several times of practice I still struggle with it at the security lines. Maybe over time I'll get better. This bag does not have a sturdy base. So when I have light load without large books or binders, the bag does not stay stable on a vertical position, falls flat and the upper part seems to slightly fold down towards the lower part. I also found that the zippers do not function smoothly and seem to get caught in the fabric often times, so I've had to wiggle it or stretch the frabric to make it work. In summary,I like that it's light weight, has a longer back profile and water resistant , but has a few drawbacks - inconvenient to access laptop sleeve at airports, cannot lay it down vertically with a light load, zipper functionality not smooth. So I'd give it a neutral rating for now. Maybe over time I'll get used to it."

"I was torn between 28L and then 32L this one is huge but I love the extra room. I'm in nursing school and can carry two to three books and a 3in binder easy with plenty of room to spare."
