"I've had this bag for 2 years and have used it on several long trips. I used it on a 3 1/2 week trip around the Pacific in 2013 travelling through California, Hawaii,Japan, and the Philippines. It was the only bag I took and used it as a carry on on civilian and military flights. It is well built and holds up to a lot of abuse. It is about 5 pounds empty though. It actually has too many pockets making it heavier. The shoulder and waist straps are well designed and come in handy when this bag is fully loaded. The bag is also expandable. If you do expand it this bag will not qualify as a carry on. Even when not expanded if you really load it up it will not qualify as a carry on. The bag does have internal straps to hold clothes in place. It also has external compression straps. I just got back from an 8 day trip to Switzerland and used this bag, plus a dinky type electronics bag, as a carry on. I clipped the small bag on the front straps with a carabiner. I wanted a backpack instead of rolling a carry on around the cobble stone streets. This bag was perfect for the job. I packed 2 zip off pants, one gym short, a pair of Dockers, 2 Polo shirts, 3 gym type shirts, one pair of sandals, one pair of shoes, 5 pairs of underwear, 5 pairs of low rise socks, and a toiletry bag. I used additional compression hiking/backpacking style straps to tightly compress the bag to fit inside the 22x14x9 inch restrictions for most major carry on requirements. It fit but just barely. It does show you a large amount of clothing can fit in this bag and still meet carry on requirements. It does get heavy though with the 5 pound empty weight and all that clothing. The shoulder straps and waist strap work well to distribute the weight."

"the item is well advertised on the website, however when ¿ got the bag ¿ was somewhat disappointed due to the some quality issues such as zippers and the fabric itself. It is thinner than should be and not sure if it is really cordura or not. I have some cordura stuff ¿ have been using since 2008, and this one is not like this, not even closer. Nonetheless, on the whole ok for plane cabins and offers a lot of space."
