"Great item, a lot of storage space and can easily/nicely be used as carry on. The only downfall is how thin the waist straps are (no support or padding). very annoying since I use it religiously to keep the weight off my shoulders."

"Okay so I love pockets this backpack has so many compartments and the main one is humongous. I have only been using it for school now but I got this anticipating for when I study abroad and will be in airports eternally. My only gripe is that the water bottle holders aren't really tight so if my water bottle is sort of empty it might fall out. But there are two water bottle holders so I am happy with the fact that there are so many compartments. Also I love the pockets I can put all my cords for chargers and my external hard drives and my tiny notebooks in the same place. The main compartment is just a gaping hole and I love it. If you don't need that much space just lock that stuff up with those buckle things and it gets way smaller who thought of this it's so good. So basically: laptop compartment for my laptop. Safe. Snug. Secure. Main compartment: I've fit a box of photo paper, a 1" binder, several notebooks and small ones and a pencil case alongside a box that holds Google Glass. It fit. It literally fit. Next biggest compartment: I put my external hard drive in the pocket that is sort of netted. My other flash drives are in there two I have like 4. So many flash drives. Then I put other smaller note books (field notes size) in here and sticky notes and medicine for when I was sick and cough drops. I also put some phone chargers (android, iPhone 5 lightning cable and one for like a 5th gen iPod nano) I don't bring my tablet with me a lot but there is space for it (it's iPad Air) and it's all good Top lil mini compartment that is apparently usually for glasses: I put random stuff in here I just love the random pockets Two zip compartments: The fleece one I usually put my laptop charger in and the other one is just other random crap. again, i love the pockets anyways that's the gist of it. i got this on sale and saved like over $50. it's great."

"North Face always makes high quality items that are durable and stylish. Here's my opinions on this bag. Mind you I'm a backpack junkie so I tend to be more critical and observant that the casual user. I usually spend several weeks doing research before purchasing a new backpack. The bag looks pretty good, decent colors and clean cut. I do like the older model of this bag looks wise. Miss the daisy chain as well. I love bright colors so I would've loved to see some more oranges, reds, purples, etc. I really like the carry handle on the front that offers didn't options (imagine would be helpful on planes, etc.) The top carry handle is nice and padded as well. The main reason I bought this bag was for the TSA laptop lay-flat option. That being said-the compartment for your laptop seems to be much wider than it needs to be. Which takes away from the space in the main compartments. Overall I feel the bag needs to be wider. Due to having 3 compartments it all feels really tight. I could barely fit my lunch bag in the main compartment. When the main compartment is fuller it makes the front pocket very tight and difficult to get into & find what you're looking for. I love the organizational panel...but with everything in the bag being so tight I feel like it was hard to fully utilize them. I would've added a sleeve in the main compartment for documents and another sleeve or zippered pocket in the laptop compartment for documents or a tablet/cords (although to be fair the front organizational panel did have a padded tablet sleeve. I had bought this bag for everyday work use. I'd hoped to make it my travel pack as well. However, with everything so tight it really doesn't leave a lot of room. This bag is supposed to be over 2000 ci, yet I have an Osprey pack that's only 1850 ci and offers a lot more storage space. If you're looking for a great travel pack go with the Osprey Nebula. Same great lay flat TSA laptop compartment and great organization."
